About Jennifer & Brian

Hi! We've lived in Florida for the past 14 years having moved here from Newport, RI. I graduated from the University of Rhode Island with a Bachelor's of Science in Consumer Affairs. I've worked in Real Estate, Social Services and Staffing/Recruiting. I enjoy traveling, meeting new people, reading, cooking and going to the beach! My husband, Brian, is a Mechanical Engineer. He graduated from the University of South Florida. He enjoys bike riding, boating, ping pong, all things related to cars & working on his inventions!

Jennifer & Brian purchased this cottage in 2013

Why Jennifer & Brian chose St Petersburg

My husband and I bought this property because we love the 'old world' charm of the neighborhood with its' brick streets and architecture. The neighborhood is filled with Craftsman style homes as well as Tudors, Mediterranean Revivals, Colonials, American Four Squares and others. We love that we can walk to our favorite restaurants, shops and entertainment! This neighborhood is like a New England town without the cold weather!

What makes this cottage unique

This is a single level cottage so there won't be any stairs to navigate except 2 steps onto the front porch. There is a private parking spot behind the cottage. It has central AC/Heat (no window shakers)! Easy walk to downtown and the waterfront with it's own small beach! You'll also enjoy a private washer/dryer right in the cottage. A horse drawn carriage can pick you up right at the cottage door (a unique benefit to this neighborhood) and tour you around the neighborhood and/or take you downtown and drop you off at dinner! So fun!

Perfect in every sense of the word

  • 5 of 5

Charming, comfortable cottage nestled in a quite neighborhood just blocks from all the excitement of downtown St. Pete. Your hosts, Jennifer and Brian, are warm, and welcoming and have thought of everything to make your stay as enjoyable and hassle-free as possible.

The cottage decor and amenities were picture perfect -- including ample linens (lots of thick white towels!) and a not-too-hard, not-too-soft king size mattress. Although small, the cottage is uncluttered and provides lots of room to move around and store your stuff. And of course, the porch (which we spent a lot of time on) is like having a second living room. Morning coffee and a good book with the sun peaking in is not something I will soon forget. Absolutely lovely.

Phenomenal experience!

  • 5 of 5

I never write reviews for things but felt compelled to for this HomeAway property/experience. Jennifer and Brian know how to do it right! The house is adorable, immaculate, whatever you need they immediately provide and they are both a pleasure to deal with and a lovely couple. For exploring the city of St Pete's, the house is in a perfect location. You are four blocks to the fantastic waterfront park for walking, cycling, working out.....and only .5 mile walk to the heart of downtown. We loved it so much we rented for a month for next year!

Sweet cottage in excellent location!

  • 5 of 5

We rented this adorable cottage in the old northeast for my parents. It was perfect for them! Private entrance, cozy courtyard and front porch made an great first impression. The cottage itself was immaculate and well appointed with a cute seating area, eat in kitchen and large bedroom with king size bed. We've rented often through vrbo and I have to say that this property was the nicest I've seen. My parents literally had to unpack their bags and they were good to go. Beds made up with fresh linens, fluffy towels and the basics all ready in the kitchen. Very quiet, safe neighborhood within easy walking distance to downtown St. Pete. The owners, Jen and Brian were friendly, welcoming and very accommodating. I would highly recommend this property if you're looking for the perfect Florida getaway!

Excellent property with superb location advantages

  • 4 of 5

We loved this beautifully decorated "PotteryBarn" little cottage and the owners jennifer and Brian could not have been more welcoming and kind. With its location just a few blocks from downtown we were able to walk to everything. Old Northeast St Petersburg is filled with wonderfull cottages and houses and was very quiet and pleasant. The cottage was spotless and had every thing we needed. The nearby dog park down on the waterfront was a great benefit for our dog. We would definitely recommend this property to everyone. Very good experience all around. Close to everything we needed...all in all ..a most gratifying visit...Home Away's reservation system was easy and communication with the owners was simple.

Cozy Cottage

  • 5 of 5

Awesome cottage in the heart of historic NE St. Petersburg. We stayed for 8 nights between Christmas and New Year's, perfect location to enjoy all that the area has to offer. It is an eclectic neighborhood of bungalows and older homes, very cool... The property is spotlessly clean and has a great kitchen to prepare meals. It is the perfect size for two with a very comfortable king-sized bed. It is pet-friendly, although you would never know another pet had ever stayed there. Jennifer and Brian are terrific hosts who know how to make guests feel welcome. We would definitely choose to stay at the cottage should future travel bring us back to the area.
