I visited this apartment in mid March with my family to visit friends that moved the Upper East Side. The apartment was extremely convenient. Very easy to get to the subway and the downtown bus.
I absolutely loved the apartment!! It has a real NYC feel to it with exposed brick. It is located in a lovely brownstone building. Felt so cool to live like a true New Yorker for a week! The beds were super comfortable and the kitchen was perfect. Fully equipped with everything I needed to whip up a quick breakfast. The apartment and building were very clean. Thanks for a great stay and I can't wait to visit again!! I highly recommend!
I recently stayed in this apartment in mid March and had such an amazing time!!! The apartment is located in a great location near Central Park, the subway, and a ton of museums!! Getting to transportation was super easy and only took a few minute walk. The apartment was laid out perfectly with bedrooms on opposite ends. Super quiet and I really enjoyed living like a NYer for a week!! The booking and check in process was super easy. I will definitely book this apartment on my return visit next year!
The layout of this second floor apartment was perfect for us. I was travelling with my friend and her husband and we had enough space to balance privacy with socializing. The hot water for showers was plentiful with great pressure. The kitchen had everything we needed except sugar. It's narrow so only comfortable for one person at a time to use. This apartment is in a brownstone but it was remarkably quiet. I could hear other residents climbing the stairs and walking on the landings but that wasn't often. My friends didn't even hear that in the front bedroom. The owners were easy to work with and everything worked.
The location is good. Central Park is five or six blocks away. Restaurants are one or two blocks away. This is a quiet neighborhood so finding places open past 10pm would take you a bit away from the apartment. We took Michael's recommendation and ate at Nick's one night which is on the corner. It was very good. We also walked to the Met.
There are a few things to keep in mind. The apartment is on the second floor so not too many stairs to climb at all but they are a little steeper than comfortable. The beds are very firm - very very firm. We all had a hard time sleeping comfortably on our sides. My friends took the futon from the living room and put it on top of their mattress to add a little softness.
I would recommend this apartment to those who like a quiet, no frills kind of place with firm mattresses.
