Adventure
Wintergreen offers 27 holes of golf in the Valley with 2 swimming pools,tennis and a resort restaurant that overlooks the 18th hole (Stoney Creek Bar & Grill hours of operation vary by season). Stoneycreek is also where the summer hotspot, Lake Monocan is located. Families can go to the lake for a day of picnicing, swimming, canoeing tubing and other activities. You will be within a 15 minute drive to the mountain resort for skiing, tubing, ice skating, tennis, swimming, zip-lining, kids activities and another 18 holes of golf and restaurants.
The home is located in the heart of Virginia wine country so take advantage of the wine tastings at the local wineries. More of a beer drinker? Venture along the 'Brew Ridge Trail' in the valley with Three new microbreweries / restaurants and a new hard cider brewery all within a 10 minute drive. ( Devil's Backbone, Wild Wolf and Blue Mountain )
Relax
Cozy up by the fireplace or relax on the back deck surrounded by nature. Feel free to take a leisurely walk on the golf course when golfers are not present, accessed from the home's private path. A short walk to the end of the street will take you to the nature trail where you can explore the banks of Stoney Creek.
Activities
Lake Monocan the 20-acre lake and park with beach is also located in Stoney Creek in the valley, staffed daily with a lifeguard, Memorial Day-Labor Day, weather permitting. Snack bar, paddleboats, canoes, kayaks, fishing equipment, standard road bike rentals, horseshoe pits, sand volleyball court, sandy beach, lounge chairs, picnic area and outdoor charcoal grills are available. Last year they also had a water trampoline that my kids loved. There are also two separate swimming pools located in valley , one at the Clubhouse and one at Rodes Farm. On the mountain they have bungee jumping, bounce houses, zip-lining, a mechanical bull, Wii games, summer tubing down the mountainside, pool tables and a kids camp.
If you are looking for all day entertainment Rodes Farm is the facility for your family. There is not only a covered pavilion, the facility also has a kiddie pool, adult swimming pool, two horseshoe pits, two sand volleyball courts, and a tennis court. The tennis court was resurfaced 2 years ago. A small fishing pond with a deck (catch and release) is also onsite for your enjoyment.
At our property you can sit back and watch your family play Horseshoes or Croquet in the front yard from the rocking chairs on the front porch or take a short walk to the end of the street where you can hike a long the banks of Stoney Creek. You can take advantage of the opportunity to work on your golf game when the course is quiet, accessible from our private path.
Wintergreen and the town of Nellysford are quickly becoming known as the Brew Ridge Trail for their beautiful wineries, micro breweries, and just opened Hard Cider brewery. In fact, there are more micro breweries in the county than there are traffic lights.

WINTERGREEN REQUIRES GUEST PASSES to use the pools, gain access to Lake Monocan on Saturdays or use the Indoor Aquatic & Fitness center located at Wintergreen Spa. There is a fee to use the Indoor pool and fitness center. There are not any fees to access the outdoor pools or lake but you must have the guest passes we provide.
