Vacation Home: This property has been in the previous family since before the turn of the century when Prior Lake was a horse and buggy resort town for the Twin Cities. The house was built in the 1950’s and is a charming Cape Cod style lake home built by an affluent lumber company family. This 3200+ square foot home has been fully renovated with modern amenities, but retains the true architectural point of the home. The home sits on level lakeshore 50 feet from the water. It has the most private 3 acres lot on the lake with 340 feet of south facing frontage. It has a three season porch, large great room, fireplace, exquisite master suite/bath, 3 additional bedrooms and bathrooms. It includes Kayaks and a private dock. Prior Lake: This vacation home is located on the Northern side of Lower Prior Lake. Lower Prior Lake is 956 acres with a maximum depth of 60 feet. Upper Prior Lake is 386 acres with a maximum depth of 50 feet. Prior Lake is located in the City of Prior Lake in Scott County, Minnesota. It is connected to Lower Prior Lake to the northeast via a navigable channel that passes under Eagle Creek Ave. The lake is primarily managed for walleye and largemouth bass and secondarily managed for northern pike and bluegill. It is a wonderful recreational lake for any family to enjoy. There is a restaurant/pub, boat rental and gas dock available on Prior Lake.

About The Owner

We are local family that purchased this home as a long term investment. We have had so much interest in rental that we have decided to make it available. We hope families and friends can make many memories at this wonderful place.

Great Vacation Rental on Prior Lake

Three friends and I stayed at the Mystic Loon for 3 nights. Cindy, the Property Manager, was fantastic to deal with (very responsive to emails and helpful with all of our inquires). She went out of her way to make our stay top-notch and that is greatly appreciated.

The house itself has everything you would want to make a great vacation. We were there to golf and frankly did not have time to take advantage of all the amenities that the house had to offer. I would like to go back again for a longer visit so that I could. Note that the house was very clean, modern and had everything you would need for a vacation get away of a few days or a month. The photos accurately depict the property and the house was as described (in fact, probably nicer than described).

if you are looking for a lake front rental near Minneapolis (maybe 30 minutes to downtown), this is it. This vacation rental is simply excellent in all respects and I would highly reccommend it.

Originally picked this location with the intention of conducting some offsite interviews/meetings here during my stay in MN. The location is close to Minneapolis metro area and easy to get to. I held two days of meetings here and must say that the atmosphere was very conducive to open communication.

By the end of the first day, I was regretting not bringing my ice fishing gear as the lake is literally steps from the door. I felt at home immediately and could easily imagine myself and my family here in any season. In fact. I've already arranged a summer rental so my family will get a chance to experience "Up North" without roughing it.

The owners are very nice people and made sure everything went smoothly. They keep the place spotless and made lots of amenities/activities available.

I would recommend this property for business or personal stays - it lends itself to both.

Thanks for the great stay - looking forward to visiting again with my family this summer

Great Retreat Space

I came here with 8 friends and co-workers for a retreat and we had a wonderful time. The enclosed porch is spacious. The lake is visible from the living room, dining area and porch. The kitchen was well-equipped. There were plenty of bathrooms and the bedrooms were large. We had one minor difficulty with a toilet during our stay, and the owner came and resolved it promptly. There were also bikes and kayaks available, which our group enjoyed. The proximity to the Twin Cities is another plus, making it easy to enjoy city amenities, and return to this retreat space.

Lovely home for our weeklong wedding celebration!

The Mystic Loon Lake Cottage was perfect for our weeklong wedding celebration. The owners were open to trying something new with their property, and we were thrilled with all of their flexibility and support. We were able to house our wedding party for the week at the cottage. We rented a large wedding tent and hosted about 150 guests for our wedding. We had the ceremony and the reception on the Mystic Loon property. This property is only 35 minutes away from the Minneapolis Airport; it was perfect for our guests from out of town. The "toys" that were available (the ping pong table, the bikes, the kayaks, the hammock) added to our stay and allowed for everyone to take part in some activity during the week. I cannot recommend this property enough! It was spacious and comfortable inside and out. The proximity to the water was fantastic. And the seclusion of the property allowed us to feel like we were on our own private getaway. As I have said before, the owners were absolutely great to work with. They were integral to the success of our big day. Thank you!
