Nestled into the trees, and just 3 miles from down town Portland, our beautiful house awaits you. The HUGE covered front porch with gazebo eating area is very inviting. Sit and watch the rain fall around you while you remain dry. Enjoy a cup of coffee in the morning and listen to the sound of the native birds flying overhead. Our home is very kid friendly (fully child-proofed) and we welcome pets! We have a flat front yard that the ride-on toys can be played with on. The back yard is 1/3 acre of manicured gardens. Birdhouses in nearly every tree of our fenced yard. We also have a sparkling hot tub in the back, overlooking the lush landscape.
Inside our Portland home we have a living room with an over-sized couch and flat screen TV. A dinning table that seats 6. A fully stocked kitchen complete with everything you will need for preparing meals. A Washer and Dryer. The Master suite is very private, up a set of stairs. Complete with a walk in closet and a full bath with a tub/shower. The Master has an expensive King sized bed with very nice linens. A porch off the Master deck lends to more bird watching and a nice view of the Portland area. The 2nd bedroom has a queen sized bed and a toddler race car bed. It also has a walk in closet and a deck off the room overlooking the backyard. The 3rd bedroom has a twin sized bed and a crib in it. It also has a glider rocking chair and a changing table for the baby. All Pottery Barn Kids decor. There is also a full bathroom for the living areas and the 2 bedrooms. Both the 2nd and 3rd bedroom are LOADED with toys, appropriate for kids of all ages. The final room has a full sized bed & two desks. Our home has EVERYTHING you will need while vacationing. It is very charming, we have been told it looks like a Bed & Breakfast. The decor is very cottage-chic. We would love to have you stay!

Hi, I'm Kimberly. I am a Mom to 3 boys (ages 7, 5, and 2). I left my career as a Pharmaceutical Sales Rep to stay at home with my kids. In my spare time I enjoy managing the rentals of our 2 homes (this Portland home and our Del Mar vacation rental vrbo#303487), selling things on Ebay, working out, and hiking. We currently live full time in Del Mar, CA but LOVE to visit our Portland home as often as possible.
Kimberly purchased this house in 2005
We bought this home in 2005. We loved the area, as we can get into and out of downtown through the hills in a matter of minutes, as we are only 3 miles away. This is a VERY safe neighborhood and it is very kid-friendly with many parks and places to visit with kids. We love that you can walk to the Sunday Farmer's Market, the Library, Starbucks, even the organic grocery store. It feels like a small town, yet just minutes from the hustle and bustle of the big city!
This is a quiet neighborhood where you hear more wildlife than the noise of people or traffic. It is serene and very private.
"'m not sure why I can't get this to work, but here is my review if you are able to put it in for me.
My husband, my 23 month old son, and I stayed at this rental for 5 days. It was very conveniently located to major Portland attractions and it was in a really nice neighborhood. The house is very charming and had everything you would need for a relaxing vacation. My son was in heaven with all the toys and books. Given the choice, he would have stayed at the house to play rather than go sightseeing. Kimberly was great to work with. She was very timely in her responses and very friendly. I would highly recommend this rental.
This home was fantastic. It was perfect for the weekend retreat that I planned. We were there to get work done. The comfort of the home allowed us to complete all the necessary tasks. The house had plenty of space for everyone to separate and regroup. Kimberly was fantastic at answering all our questions even when we were at the house. She's great to work with. I would definitely recommend this home. Although downtown isn't far, I would suggest renting a car. Renting a car will be far more convenient and cost effective considering it was nearly impossible to get a cab. There was times where we waited over 40 minutes.
My family and I just loved this comfy, well appointed home and the huge fenced-in backyard with mature fruit trees was perfect for our pup to explore. Breakfast in the morning and a nightcap in the evening on the front porch is a must. Although we didn't need all the kiddy paraphernalia, my family appreciated all the board games, etc. - especially the Jenga. Downtown is just over the hill and highway access is nearby - making it easy to get around by car. This is a great home base to enjoy all that Portland and the surrounding areas have to offer!
I stayed at Kimberly's home with my extended family, and we had a wonderful time. The house is charming and warm, and well-stocked with pretty much anything you could need. My younger kids LOVED all the toys and games and DVDs, and my older kids appreciated the fast wi fi. I appreciated and enjoyed the hot tub, and all the things that are needed for young kids but you don't normally have the benefit of while travelling (changing table, diaper pail, kids cups, etc). The neighborhood is lovely, and Kimberly was responsive and easy to work with. Being from Texas, we were surprised that there was no AC except in the master bedroom, but it was cool enough that it wasn't needed, and it was a treat to be able to sleep with windows open in the middle of the summer and wake up to the birds. ;)) We would definitely stay again.
I cannot say enough wonderful things about our stay at this house. It was beautiful, homey, clean, well-cared-for -- the gardens are peaceful and gorgeous, the neighborhood is quiet, the hot tub is huge and the jets are great, the beds comfy, the water pressure in the showers is awesome (ours at home isn't so this really was a treat). I loved waking up to the sounds of birds outside, listening to the wind in the trees at night while lounging in the hot tub, and sitting on the front porch with my coffee in the morning. For a family with kids, it's perfect - our daughter LOOOOOVVVVED all the toys and books as well as the beautiful woodsy playground just a 5 minute walk away - there were changing tables, a diaper bin, gates on the stairs and even a rocking chair - all the things you need and miss when traveling with a little one. Kimberly is a responsible and wonderful host and obviously works to take good care of this place. We will be back! THANK YOU Kimberly!
What a great place to stay!! We just returned from our trip to Portland and couldn't be more pleased. The house is well maintained, well stocked, and in a great location. This was our first VRBO and it was a great experience. Also, Kimberly is very accommodating and very helpful!! I would definitely recommend this house!!
This home is a home away from home! It has a great feeling of warmth when you walk in!
my favorite parts:
-the proximity to Portland- super close but yet removed from the actual city
-all the miscellaneous cooking supplies you need are here and ready to use!
-plenty of space to lounge around with your group
-great yard and outdoor area with Hot Tub!
-they have amazing shower heads!
We ended up having a large group and had no problem fitting us all in there! plenty of extra space with the basement and office!
I highly suggest this for anyone looking for a home away from home on their vacation!
1 hour to year round skiing at Mt Hood. Just 3 miles from Washington Park where the Zoo, Rose Garden, Japanesse Garden, and 32 miles of Trail Heads are!
