Born and raised in Astoria, Queens, New York City, I am happy to always have been able to call New York City my home. I am an avid tennis player, golfer, and snowboarder. Me and my wife, Jessica, enjoy hosting our guests throughout the year and are always available to ensure that all of our guests have a happy stay!
Jason Riggs purchased this apartment in 2006
The apartment is located in my townhouse in Astoria, Queens, New York City. I love it here in Astoria, as it is so welcoming and there is always something to do here. The townhouse is located just around the corner from the train station and only 10 minutes by train to reach Manhattan, so it is very conveniently located. The townhouse is also in perhaps one of the safest areas in New York City, as it is predominantly families and young professionals who live here in Astoria.
The townhouse has a wonderful garden area, which is a rare luxury to have here in New York City. Located just around the corner from the train station makes this townhouse ideally situated. The townhouse is on a quiet residential block, however, there are many markets, restaurants, shops, etc., located just a few minutes walk away.
My wife and I and our son (1.5 years old) stayed for a week in Jessica's and Jason's apartement in Queens in December. The apartment was indeed very nice and spacious. There are quite a lot of shops no more than a couple of blocks away, where you can shop food and other necessities. The apartment was also close to the subway. It was however a bit noisy during nighttime (maybe from the subway tracks and/or the heating system), but this might be a normal NYC issue. Overall it was a good experience. Further to this, Jessica helped us out in receiving our delayed luggage from the airport. We are really thankful for that!!
We had an amazing stay, Jessica and Jason were always at the end of the telephone if we needed anything and were always willing to help us with anything we needed. The apartment was perfect, we would move in permanently if it was possible! It was very clean, tidy, modern and lovely and warm - a little to warm on the first night but easily solved with a text to Jessica and Jason. The apartment had everything we needed from towels to kitchen utensils. The apartment is right around the corner to the local subway station! It was just a perfect place to stay, just enough out of the hustle and bustle of New York City yet an easy 10 minute train ride in, it allowed us to grasp the New York subway system and experience more of New York than the Center its self. When we return to New York we will be staying with them again!! Thank you for the amazing rental!
I still remember it! The property and owners are just amazing at what they do. The place is brilliant and has everything you would want in your stay, plus the convenient location. Thank you for the experience!
This was our first time with VRBO and our first time to NYC. We were very pleased with the beautiful updating to this one bedroom apartment. We enjoyed the spaciousness of this apartment over even a one bedroom hotel suite. The kitchen is modern and equipped with anything you could need when you want to prepare meals for yourself. There is a grill out back you can use while you relax in the garden on the patio furniture. The open concept dining/living room has a large dining table , satellite tv, comfortable couch and lounge chair. The bedroom has a comfortable bed and large modern custom wall unit with more than enough room to store all that you could possibly bring. One of the main selling points when we looked at this property online, was the shower in the bathroom. Wonderful. You will enjoy it to start the day or relax after a long day. The whole apartment is very well equipped and modernized. Jessica had a binder with all the important information for the apartment, subway, neighborhood, laundry, shopping, restaurants and more. The subway is just around the corner and we were on it every day.
This is a great location to stay for NYC and depending on what else you want to do, there is a lot to do in Queens and Long Island as well. We found a small grocery store close by,next door to a small coffee shop that we enjoyed. Drugstore next to the subway and plenty of restaurants within walking distance or a short ride. We felt like we were at home in this apartment in Astoria , Queens , New York.
My family just returned back to California after a wonderful week in New York. The apartment was amazing and Jessica was very accommodating and very easy to work with. My family rented two of the apartments and both were phenomenal. The location was great so convenient to the subway station around the the corner. The neighborhood was quiet, but it had stores and restaurants and we even used the laundromat at the end of the street. We loved our stay and would highly recommend this property to other families! Great memories, thanks Jessica for being so helpful. The Cruz Family
This was a great place, very convenient subway around the corner from the apartment, quick ride to Manhattan. The apartment is just as pictured and is probably one of the cleanest places I have ever stayed in. The bed was amazing…am now looking into this type of mattress at home. Jessica was great to work with, honest and very thoughtful. They had some repairs done one day while we were away from the apartment and she brought baked goods and some great beer for us to enjoy for the inconvenience. I hope to come back to NY and when I do I will plan to stay here again.
