Even my wife liked it!
Just got back a couple of days ago. This is a luxury apartment in a luxury building. We were a block from Ben Yehuda, across the street from Gan Haatzmaut (Independence Park), 3 minutes from the Great Synagogue and Yeshurun, 700 meters from the Supersol (overpriced Israeli supermarket chain) and 15 minutes from Mahane Yehuda or the Old City. You can't beat the location. We arrived at the building pretty late, around 9 PM, with a wife and 2 very tired kids. The front desk manager was wonderful. He helped us with our bags and gave me a tour of the apartment and facilities. Parking on site was easy and very convenient. The apartment itself is very nice, very clean, but a work in progress (unless you're a contractor or related to one, you won't notice). It's very spacious, even for 4 people. The TVs were great and the cable really helped. The appliances in the kitchen are top notch. Kashrus (kosher) may be an issue for some. The manager couldn't verify that it had been kept kosher. The front desk guy said it was, but there's only one set of dishes and utensils. They had a Shabbat plata (plate warmer) and water kettle. We bought plastic utensils, plates and aluminum pans, so it wasn't a big deal. There's a Shabbat elevator, but the apartment is on the first floor, so it doesn't matter. We couldn't find any dish or laundry detergent, but again, the Supersol is down the street so it wasn't a big deal. The apartment decorations are elaborate in some rooms and sparse in others. It looks like they're going to do more work on the place, but it's very nice as it is. The manager was always quick and responsive to email. We didn't need the on-site manager, but he came by to say hi anyway. Some of the furniture was a bit dusty, but again, no big deal. The second bathroom was very tiny and the shower was a bit of a challange. The bathroom in the master bedroom was spacious. Bottom line, this is a FAR better deal than any hotel in the area. The building is brand new and the apartment is beautiful. The pool was great. We'd definitely stay here again and recommend it to everyone.
