Bad Rental
My family and I got a week of leave to go home and visit family and we loved the idea of having a house on the beach where we could all relax and enjoy our time. This was not the place for that. When we arrived at the house it was pretty late at night and the first thing we noticed was that the front porch light did not work and that the grass in the front of the house was over grown. Upon entry into the house we took note of several different issues. The first was all of the windows were dirty and filled with spider webs they looked like they hadn’t been cleaned in months. Other things that were horrible were spoiled food in the refrigerator, dirty dishes in the sink, dead bugs all over the floors and one of the kitchen lights was broken; there was not even a globe over it. So needless to say we were up all night cleaning and trying to make it livable. This was not a fun task at 3 in the morning with two children. In the morning when we got up I jumped in the shower and the faucet came disconnected from the wall. There were also used toothbrushes on the bathroom sink and used bars of soap in the tub and on the sink. Other noted problems with the rental were a leaky kitchen sink, vinyl siding laying in the backyard and the grill was so disgusting that it could not even be used, oh and the 2 queen beds in the 3rd bedroom were not existent. The home consisted of 1 queen bed in a room with no lights (no even an outlet to plug in a lamp), another room with a single bed, and a 3rd room with 2 twin beds pushed together. There were also no plates or bowls in the kitchen. We did phone the property manager and were told that they would contact the owner and someone would get back with us but that never happened.
This was a horrible rental and I would suggest to the owner that they fix all the problems before renting it out again. I am appalled that our one week vacation was spent cleaning a place that was supposed to be relaxing. With my husbands frequent deployments we don’t get back to the states often for a visit and this just made it very stressful on all of us. Would I recommend this place? Heck NO!!!
