We loved everything about this home. It was the ideal location for our family...easy to get to Traverse City and all of the wonderful places on the Leelenau Peninsula! This house has everything, plenty of bedrooms (There were 10 of us) a large well-stocked kitchen and great family living space. There is even a beach closet with toys and towels! The beach is just across a very quiet road and it is wonderful! Dealing with Sharon (property manager) was our best experience with any of our previous rentals. This is definitely a home we hope to rent again in the future!!
The home is located in a beautiful setting on West Grand Traverse Bay with stunning views and a sandy beach. The rural road lends itself to peace and quiet and yet close to downtown Traverse City and Suttons Bay and all that these cute towns have to offer. Lots of restaurants, boutique shopping and outdoor activities including all kinds of water sports and activities make this an ideal location. We loved visiting the Sleeping Bear Sand Dunes National Lakeshore, a gorgeous park just 30 minutes from the home. The kitchen is large and well equipped with everything we needed to cook for our family. The three bedrooms, three full baths and large living room gave us plenty of space to spread out. We loved the large deck and grill on the front of the house overlooking the bay. The log cabin home is rustic, warm and homey. A great family vacation and getaway!
We had the opportunity to stay at this gorgeous home in May. Not quite beach weather (sad for our water-loving family), but we still had a marvelous time.
We were a group of friends with babies in tow just looking for a few days to relax and enjoy each other's company. This house provided the perfect venue for such an occasion.
The house is absolutely gorgeous, like a log cabin with huge windows, beautiful bay views, and all modern amenities (wifi, hot showers, laundry, etc...no Laura Ingalls Wilder here, guys!)
We had plenty of room for all of us and our baby gear. With the upstairs and the downstairs, we all had plenty of room to spread out so that the babies didn't wake each other up. Plentiful bathrooms made it easy for us all to get up and at it when we needed to be clean and presentable.
The kitchen was set up spectacularly for making some fabulous meals that we enjoyed at the large dining table. We had all the pots and pans we needed to whip up some great meals. We also enjoyed the grill and sitting outside on the porch enjoying the lovely view.
The rental also includes your own private beach access, which means you can just walk right across the street to your own private stretch of sand and crystal clear water. I'm sure that it is perfection in July (but a bit too chilly for a May day.)
The location is terrific too. Close to Traverse City and its cuteness (and good restaurants) and some wineries (!!!!).
Basically, this place was a home away from home, if your home had gorgeous lake views, beach property, and air that smells like heaven. We will definitely stay here again, probably when we can get a little beach time!
Really enjoyed our stay at the Beachfront retreat. It's a beautiful home with wonderful sunsets right at your back door. The kitchen was perfect for our group of people and the sleeping was wonderful. Everything is the best quality from the towels to dishes.. I would highly recommend this stay. Especially the location was close to the wineries and beaches and close to in town activities whether a trip to Traverse city or Suttons bay.. Shopping was also plentiful.. Plan on coming again.
Loved this house! It definitely has the comforts of home more than your typical rental property. The open floor plan is great for letting little ones run and crawl around. The downstairs is nice and quiet so everyone truly has their own "space". We stayed in the first floor bedroom with the queen bed and it was quite comfortable. There was also a large closet perfect for stowing luggage. The house is very bright with tons of windows. We loved sitting on the large front deck and watching the water. The kitchen is also very nice with new appliances and well equipped for cooking for a crowd. Will definitely be back!
A wonderful getaway in beautiful Northern Michigan

Had the most excellent stay here last week! I wish we could go back immediately!
We enjoyed the wonderful view overlooking the bay, a private beach to either lounge or play on (and a closet stocked with plenty of beach toys, towels and more makes the latter pretty easy). There's also a fire pit (which we sadly didn't end up having time to take advantage of despite the fact I pulled up with LOADS of s'mores making materials!) and front and back decks at the house which makes basking in nature a breeze. The BBQ on the front deck and patio furniture makes dining al fresco another possibility.
The house itself is spacious and sleeps many comfortably. There's a loft space upstairs with the master bedroom and a private bath. The main floor has two rooms (a queen bed and a bunk set in the other with a crib), another bathroom, plus the a living room, kitchen and dining room. The kitchen is nice and big and stocked with all the basics you'll need to cook at the house (pots, pans, plates, etc) should you choose. The dishwasher is also a nice inclusion which makes cooking/eating at home with a crowd a breeze. Downstairs is another living area with another bathroom, a set of bunk beds, couches, and a full bar with a blender and other things that make mixing up beverages easy peasy. Also a laundry room which we definitely took advantage of before we took off to our next destination. Basically it has everything you need to bring the family for an comfortable extended stay.
We spent the week either on the road or just relaxing and reading. It was nice to unplug a bit but if you're not someone who is able to part with technology there's wifi and cable tv to enjoy. But you shouldn't be bored as in addition to the awesome house amenities there's plenty to do in the area--wineries, beaches, eateries, adorable towns, sand dunes and more.
We brought our puppy with us and the house was perfect for him. Lots of space to run, swim in the lake, snuggle, etc. I think he might have been sadder to go than we were!
The property manager Sharon was VERY sweet and available if we needed anything. But the place was so comfortable and inclusive that we didn't need to bug her at all.
Loved out stay here and can't wait for our next visit!
Ps. A tip--being by the water and near such a heavily wooded area the place is buggy. It's not just the house, it's the nature of the area. If you're like me be sure to bring bug spray to combat the little buggers.
This property is located in a water wonderland. The area is surrounded by beautiful lakes and Grand Traverse Bay (Lake Michigan) can be seen right out the front door. There are 25 wineries on the Leelanau Peninsula just a short drive from the house. Traverse City is a 15 minute drive, home to the Traverse City Film Festival and National Cherry Festival in addition to numerous other festivals year round. The Sleeping Bear National Lakeshore, named the 'most beautiful' national park in the U.S. is a scenic 40 minute drive through rolling hills and lake views all the way!
Restaurants abound in Suttons Bay and Traverse City. Some of our favorites include Martha's Table, Georgina's, Poppycocks, Stella, Pepenero, Spanglish, The Dish and The Green House Cafe.
Distilleries, breweries and micro-breweries are also in abundance in the area and fun to visit in addition to the many wineries.
Hiking, swimming, biking, golfing, shopping, sailing, and boating are just a few of the many activities offered in this region. The beauty of this area is unsurpassed.
