Overview

Parrita House Rental Photos and Description

House, 3 Bedrooms + Attached Unit, 3.5 Baths, (Sleeps 8)

Around 5:30 pm enjoy the breath taking Pacific Ocean sunset with your friends or family on our deck around the pool. Prepare or cater a delicious meal in our fully equipped kitchen with dining room. Turn on the flat screen satelite TV and relax on our huge curvy couch. Sleep comfortably in the bedrooms all with private baths. The master bedroom includes a king bed with master bath tub and separate shower facility. If you wish, use the washer/dryer machines for your clothing before you leave.

Arrange for a guided ATV tour to see the area around our property and the Rainmaker Nature Park Preserve. Plan a mangrove river fishing cruise and play with the white-faced monkeys. Book a day long deep sea fishing outing. Do not worry about sea sickness since these waters are the calmest in the Pacific. You can catch sailfish, marlin, dorado, or tuna. In shore, fight the mighty rooster fish or pick up a few spanish mackrel for dinner.

Try a guided white water rafting experience in the afternoon after a zip line jungle canopy tour or cable car ride in the morning. See the world famous Manuel Antonio National Park to hear and see the amazing howling monkeys! After all that you can arrange for a day of golf if you wish and still have time.

About Peter Sorensen

We are three friends that enjoy traveling, boating, fishing, good food and drink!

One partner is a funeral director, another a retired manager with a national electric utility, and the other an independent financial advisor.

Peter Sorensen purchased this house in 2011

Why Peter Sorensen chose Parrita

We came to Quepos in 2006 on a fishing trip. We had a great time and learned about the Las Palmas development just outside of town. After investigation we decided to purchase two lots and build a vacation/rental home.

What makes this house unique

Watch the squirrel monkeys and toucans as they pass by the house. In the morning take a quick drive to the nearby beach for a leisurely stroll, picking up a few 'sand dollars' to bring home with you. Stop at the quaint little beach restaurant for a nice lunch of fried tilapia and plantains or rice and beans. Learn more about the culture by visiting with the local people.

Beautiful Secluded Home in Rainforest

  • 5 of 5

Our family, including 2 teen girls and my mother, enjoyed our week at this beautiful secluded air-conditioned rental home up in the hills of Costa Rica. A 4x4 is a MUST to get up the dirt/rocky hills, but we all thought that was part of the adventure. If you like to be right in the middle of all the action, then this is probably not for you, but my family loved it. We all enjoyed adventures each day in nearby Quepos/Manuel Antonio and then returned for a swim in the pool to watch the sunset before heading out again for dinner or making dinner at the house. It is at least a 15 minute trip to get to Quepos and about 5 minutes of it is on a dirt road through African Palm Trees. The home is located in a gated area, but you literally can't see another home from it. It has beautiful views and off to the far south, you can see the Pacific Ocean in the distance. The people that manage the home live nearby and were very helpful in getting us to the home and helping us locate good restaurants. As with all homes, there were a few very minor things that the owner needs to fix, but none of it was really a big deal. (The dishwasher ran loudly, there were some scratchy animal noises in the vents, and the wood around the pool needs to be replaced.) The home is very clean and there is plenty of space for everyone to enjoy themselves. Also, the owner, was very helpful and easy to work with via phone/email prior to our visit. We would definitely stay again. We heard about a good adventure even further up the mountain that we didn't get to try, but hear is good.

Our second visit was better than the first! The house has every amenity we could want. The view is amazing and being able to watch the sun set from the pool every night was a perfect finish to each day. If you are looking for a little adventure, this is an excelent option.

Spacious home for our family vacation

  • 4 of 5

We stayed at this house for 10 days with our two teenagers. The house is spacious, clean and comfortable. We loved relaxing here after our active days outside the house horseback riding, zip lining and surfing. The pool and decks were great places to sit and watch beautiful sunsets. We were able to Bar-B-Q a great dinner and eat outside looking at the expansive, lush view. We were grateful to have rented a 4x4 because the drive to the property took us through hilly roads. The remote distance of this house from Manuel Antonio (a 30-40 minute drive) gave us the opportunity to see much more of the local culture. We spent time in Quepos, exploring the shops and learning about the Costa Rican people and how they live. We would not have had the same experience if we stayed in Manuel Antonio without a car. As well, living so deep in nature allowed us to see animals and creatures (chickens, free dogs, cows, horses, birds, bats, spiders, monkeys, lizards, frogs and even a harmless snake), some of which we have never seen before, and would not have seen had we not chosen this location.

We did experience a problem with the water in the home but the caretakers, Bert and Alita, were wonderful, updating us regularly on the progress and providing us with many ideas and suggestions as to how to deal with it. Just having them to talk to every day enhanced our vacation! They directed us to wonderful restaurants and sights, and answered our many questions about the locals with knowledge and patience.

Our teenagers loved having their own rooms while still having plenty of common space for us to enjoy our time together as a family. Our days in Costa Rica were an adventure, but every night we came back for a safe and cozy sleep.

Costa Rican Paradise

  • 5 of 5

Our stay at the house in Las Palmas was nothing less than amazing. The accommodations were great, house was spacious and our group was very comfortable staying there during our stay. With it being remote, it really gave you the sense that you were somewhere else and allowed for us to truly disconnect from our busy lives back at home. Pete, the owner, was very helpful providing tips and advice leading up to the trip. And Bert and Alita, the caretakers, were amazing and SO helpful. Definitely a great stay and would return in a heartbeat! In addition, staying in the Manuel Antonio/Quepos area gave a truly unique and local experience. After visiting Jaco, we were all very happy that we chose the Quepos area and have walked away with a better sense of the Costa Rican culture! If you're looking for a great stay with amazing accommodations and an overall amazing trip, I would recommend staying here at Las Palmas. You won't be disappointed!

Just perfect!

  • 5 of 5

We reserved this house last minute, got a prompt reply from Pete. We arrived after dark and it was very helpful that Pete's friend waited for us on the main road (oteherwise it may be difficult to find the house). The house is just awesome! Spacious, three bedrooms, small but cosy swimming pool. The view in the morning was breathtaking - cloud forest around and the sea on the horizont... Ideal for nature lovers as Manuel Antonio national park is nearby and the Carara national park is reachable. I certainly recommend this place for just about anybody (I was there with my parents, my wife and our kids, all three generations completely happy...)

Love this house!!!

  • 5 of 5

The house was beautiful!!! Can't say enough wonderful things about it:) the kitchen was great! Pool was nice to have but a little small for teenagers. Loved the area, if you want to be alone in the jungle this is the house for you. Vernon the caretaker was great, always a help, even stopped by his place for beer one night :) You must I repeat MUST have a 4x4 if you want to stay here, we did not and ended up driving back to San Jose to change out our car ( that was our fault) Definitely go to Manual Antonio park, beautiful, also went deep sea fishing and caught 9 sailfish!!! Incredible;) you will absolutely fall in love with this house:)
