Log Home On Wequas Lake

This cabin is exactly what it is advertised to be, a rustic, family oriented cabin in the woods. We stayed the week with our two large dogs and 20 year old son and had a blast. This cabin is great for a quiet getaway with long walks in the woods and midnight boating to see the stars. We cooked all meals on premise using the gas grill and stove. Breakfast on the back deck was lovely.

We appreciated the tour provided by the host and his piano playing in the evening was exceptional. All laundry facilities are provided and were in good working order. The "master" bedroom has a really cool surprise when you turn off the lights. The row boat, canoes and paddle boats provided were in good working order. The grounds were what I expected for a cabin in the woods. The really great thing is that there was no posion ivy anywhere on the large property. Additionally, there are multiple packed sand service roads that wind around for miles.

Gaylord is close enough to be convenient but far enough away that you won't know it's there. Main street has many antique and curio shops. We really enjoyed "Do South" in particular. Apparently we missed a few music festivals in the area as well as the "Cherry Festival" in Traverse City. The next time we visit we'll check the local events calendar and plan to attend some of the local events.
