Kingfisher Bend Ranch is situated at elevation 7,600 feet on nearly 1,250 secluded acres in the southwest corner of Wyoming on the north slope of the beautiful Uinta Mountains where some peaks exceed 13,000 feet in height. The Bear River flows through the middle of the ranch providing excellent, private, catch-and-release fly fishing for trout from mid-July through late October.
From May through mid-November, the ranch manager oversees ranch operations, leads free horseback rides, and assists guests. It is also possible to arrange winter stays at the ranch with snowmobiling, cross country skiing, snow shoeing and sledding at the ranch.
Photogenic Scottish Highland cattle are raised on the ranch. They produce grass-fed, lean beef and beautiful hides which we offer for sale.
In season, the ranch is home to a few lucky guests, horses, mule deer, elk, moose, porcupines, cougars, foxes, bobcats, badgers, beavers, coyotes, skunks, raccoons, squirrels, chipmunks, bald eagles, golden eagles, owls, hawks, Canada geese, various ducks, great blue herons, belted kingfishers, sandhill cranes, lazuli buntings, crows, robins, hummingbirds, woodpeckers, swallows, bluebirds, chickadees, and more.
The 1.3 million-acre Wasatch-Cache National Forest is less than five miles from the ranch. It offers wonderful scenic drives, hikes, bike rides, ATV trails, snowmobiling, and a groomed cross-country ski area. Restaurants, bowling, theaters, shopping, and an 18-hole golf course are 20 minutes away in Evanston. Park City and Deer Valley ski and resort areas are just over an hour from the ranch. A lake for water skiing and windsurfing is 20 minutes from the ranch.
The ranch buildings (including a barn) were built in 2001. Each unit has a full kitchen with granite countertops. Guests provide and prepare their meals. Linens are provided. The guest portion (2,100 s.f.) of the Lodge has two full bathrooms and sleeps 12 in four bedrooms (one bedroom with queen bed, one bedroom with two twin beds and two bedrooms each with two bunk beds). The Lodge has a piano; a recreation room with foosball, ping-pong, and satellite TV; a washer and dryer; and an outdoor propane grill. About a five-minute walk from the Lodge are two 900 s.f. Pond Cabins on the edge of a 1.4 acre pond stocked with trout. Each has a full bathroom, two bedrooms, and can sleep four (two in a queen bed and two in two twin beds).
Stays must be at least two nights.

More than two private miles of the Bear River flow through the ranch. Fishing is catch and release with barbless flies only. A professional fishing guide can be arranged at the guest's expense.
For an additional charge, hunting for elk, deer, and moose on the ranch can be arranged for guests with proper Wyoming licenses and permits. Horseback riding and hunting are not available on Sundays. There is no charge for ranch activities except hunting. Horseback rides are led by the ranch manager. A liability release form must be signed to participate in ranch activities.

The ranch is family-owned. It is not a motel. It is a special place with only three units where guests can unwind, escape from city life, find solitude and rejuvenation, have special experiences, enjoy memorable encounters with 'nature', and, at the end of their stay, feel that it was a wonderful vacation.
It is easily accessed from Salt Lake City yet it is clearly a quiet and beautiful place with high-quality units and exceptional recreational opportunities.
Great units. Wildlife. Exceptional fly fishing in season. No charge for guided horseback rides. Solitude - near a highway but once you are settled in, you will feel as though the 'world' is many miles away. 1,250 acres creates an excellent world of its own. A broad array of enjoyable activities (and some excellent porches on which to sit and do nothing).
Hunting (bow and rifle) for deer, elk and moose can be arranged on the ranch for an extra charge with proper licenses. Wonderful trout fly fishing in season.
