Tellico Plains Cabin Rental Photos and Description

Cabin, 3 Bedrooms, 1 Bath, (Sleeps 6)

Welcome to the Frank and Jesse James house, as it is known by the locals, which dates back to 1867. The story has been passed down generation to generation until the present day. Frank and Jesse stopped by to visit and made camp at the nearby creek on their way either to or from North Carolina.

Both inside and out have been remodeled in this beautiful mountain home and features updated decor and furnishings to make your vacation more comfortable and enjoyable. The farm house offers a feeling of warmth, welcome, and coziness from the moment you arrive. It is equipped with all the modern amenities for your convenience.

After a busy day of hiking in the Cherokee National Forest, kayaking the Tellico River, riding your motorcycle on the Tail Of The Dragon or Cherohola Skyway, shopping the streets of Tellico Plains, come back to The Frank and Jesse James Cabin and kick back on your deck, take in the great view of the mountains, listen to the call of the Whip-poor-wills and the hum of the cicadas. Watch the fire flies light up the evening sky and relax with nature.

Cook inside or outside for dinner, then settle in and play board games or watch a movie. Reserve The Frank and Jesse James Cabin today for your Smoky Mountain vacation getaway! Ask about our great specials!

Currently an IT consultant and businessman, Mr. Cardin retired from the cotton industry in 1998. His wife, Alicia, and he have known one another since attending the same high school in Dixie, Georgia. Mr. Cardin is the great-great-great nephew of the builders.

Vacation Rentals 4U of Tellico purchased this cabin in 2004

My family goes back to 1804 in Monroe County Tennessee. My grandfather, great-, great-great- and great-great-great-grandfathers were all born here. Although I was raised in South Georgia on a cotton farm, I fell in love with the area upon a first visit in 1993 after my father had moved here. The mild climate, historical background and natural beauty led me to move here in 2004.

The cabin is a few miles from Lake Tellico, the Tellico River, Bald River Falls, and some of the best hiking in the Appalachian mountains. The Cherokee National Forest is literally a few hundred yards away. Also, the gorgeous Cherohola Skyway leads further into the mountains and North Carolina to the Joyce Kilmer Memorial Forest, where the last stand of virgin timber in the entire Appalachian mountain chain, with its massive poplar trees, is preserved. The Tail of the Dragon (US-129), Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg are all within a one to one and a half hour drive.

My wife and another couple stayed here for a weekend getaway. We could easily see why Jesse liked the place. Nicely decorated and had all the comforts we would look for in a weekend retreat, very clean and well maintained. Very close to Cherokee Forest, Cherohala Skyway, mountain trails and trout fishing. Would definitely recommend this to friends and family.

Pleasant stay

Our stay was a five night stay for two adults. The house was bigger than two needed, but the price was too good to pass up! It is located on a main road and with neighbors, but we weren't bothered by that. It's an easy property to get in and out of for anyone with concerns about accessibility. The very large bathroom and kitchen were great and the decor is very pleasant. The side porch has a porch swing and table with chairs, which we would have loved to use, but unfortunately, the weather didn't cooperate for us to do so! The house is not set up well for privacy if there are multiple people staying, but I think that would only be a concern if you had more than two couples or people that are on very opposite schedules. The master bedroom is downstairs and there are two bedrooms upstairs. There are no doors to close on any of the bedrooms. The owner was very accommodating in meeting two requests I had, and I really appreciated the extra trip he made to fulfill one of the requests! We would definitely stay here again if we come back to Tellico Plains!

Owner's Response: We will be looking at getting doors installed and will update the listing when this is completed.

House is about 3 miles from "town", spacious yard for kids to play in, house is fairly modern on the inside. Owner helpful and responsive. If you are concerned about privacy note there are no doors on the bedrooms, but wasn't a concern for our stay.

My husband and I recently stayed here for 3 days and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves! The house is cozy and welcoming. We visited several nearby sights and relaxed in the quiet countryside in the evenings. Would recommend to anyone wanting a mountain getaway!
