Valhalla Cabin is located on a private ridge facing Rich Mountain, only four cabins in all. A short drive on a gravel road (less than a quarter mile) makes this location very convenient to get out and about. This secluded location also allows for year round views from both the front and back porch where one can enjoy the sunrise, sunset and when lucky the moon rise!
NEW in 2011- In May the GREAT ROOM got a 'New Look'. Now a warm color palette providing a cozier feel.
Then in October THE 'Hill' had a MAJOR IMPROVEMENT. Now the road is more like asphalt even though it still has a gravel finish. So no more lumps and bumps or dust in dry weather.
Valhalla Cabin has all the comforts of home and each bed is equipped with 3' Memory Foam for a truly great nights sleep.
The wireless computer is secure and password protected. Service has been updated again (July, 2013) and gets a FASTER and FULL signal. If you don't have a wireless card in your lap top you can plug into the modem or router now located in the cabin.
A new toilet was installed in 2012, now a 'comfort height' style making it easier for those with knee, hip or other restrictions.
Also a ramp is now in place of the steps to gain access to the covered porch from the parking area.
The cabin is easy to get to, just a half mile from 'The 4 Lane' aka 515/76 however, one feels like they are miles away from civilization. A variety of activities are located nearby as well as many shops and restaurants.
The outdoor hot tub is on the covered porch so it can be enjoyed year round.
This is the perfect honeymoon or romantic getaway and fun for families too. The family dog is always welcome at no charge.

My name is Helen, and I have owned the cabin next to Valhalla since 1989 and would come up on weekends. I was lucky enough to move here full time with my Bernese Mountain Dogs (from Atlanta) in 2005. This private ridge is very unique for it supports year round views to the east and the west.
The Owner purchased this cabin in 2002
I love this location so much that when Valhalla Cabin was available for purchase, I could not pass up the opportunity to own the cabin next door to mine, about 150 feet away.
At first the idea was to have a guest house and then decided to enter the Vacation Rental market in 2004.
I have met so many nice folks over the years and I love sharing my knowledge and love of the area.
Very private but only 10 minuets to Ellijay and 15 minuets to Blue Ridge.
The Fantastic Views are always beautiful and change from season to season, and from morning to night.
The Full Moon Rise coming up from behind Rich Mountain is my Favorite time up here. Just imagine while sitting in the hot tub or relaxing in a racking chair and then you see a glow, then right before your eyes the moon peeping through the trees and then as its continues to rise the sky lights up-its just magical.
This mountain cabin had everything we could ever want, spectacular views, cavernous living space, fireplace, thoughtfully laid out kitchen, private bedrooms plus a beautiful (and super comfy) sleeping loft, fast wi-fi, cable tv and lots of extras. The cabin is situated on its own little mountaintop. There are great views from the front and back decks. Both decks have seating and the rear deck (the most private with the most dramatic view) also has a hot tub. There is lots of privacy but if you need anything, Helen, the owner is just a phone call away. She really took care of us too, answering all our questions in detail about interesting things to do and to explore in the area. And there are a boatload of things to see if that is what you're looking for. Otherwise enjoy the stunning interior and surroundings of this perfect little mountain get-away cabin.
Mountain high vistas coupled with the very finest appointed cabin we ever found. Valhalla was much more than we could have ever asked for! We have stayed at dozens of different cabins before but this was our best experience by far. Certainly one of the reasons was Valhalla is lovingly cared for by its owner, Helen. Extremely clean, very comfortable with anything and everything anyone would ask for in a mountain cabin rental. The location is both privately remote, yet close to things to do! Our 15th wedding anniversary celebration could not have been in a better location! Thanks Helen!
Helen is such a great host!! She has really thought of everything you would need. It's incredible that you get a view on the front porch and the back porch. The bed was so comfortable! I really can't say enough about how amazing our weekend was! The extra bonus was how dog friendly the cabin was. There are baby gates on the decks so you can relax in the hot tub or grilling and have your pups hang with you. Loved it! Thanks Helen!
We have stayed at Valhalla 3 times now and hate to leave every time. The view is awesome and the hospitality of ms Helen keeps us coming back. You will not find a better cabin for this price anywhere. We love the personalized treats for our 2 dogs!
Valhalla is an great cabin ! The owner is exceptional and very friendly! She has given a lot of attention to details and is a great person. We also fell on love with her dogs! That being said, even though she lived nearby, she was never intrusive or anything. We all loved this cabin and would recommend it to ANYONE! Awesome views too! Great sunrise! I just honestly cannot say enough!
Some friends and I stayed for the weekend. The was by far one of the best cabins EVER! It had everything you could ask for, down to pots and pans. No cleaning fee or Pet fee. It was very Pet Friendly, with pet bowls. Helen (The owner) was very nice as well. I highly recommend this for a weekend get-a-way or for a week. We are already planning our second trip.
Only 6 miles to the Rich Mouintain Wilderness Area for easy access to Benton MacKay Trail including Stanley Creek Falls, and a Double Waterfall is sighted after a short hike (1/2 mile or less)
