This townhouse has a front entrance with on street parking and a rear entrance with parking spaces for two. The rear entrance brings you through an open and large patio, and through the French doors and into the living area. The front entrance is a more formal main level entrance thru a common vestibule.
The ground floor living area has a generous west facing living room, with double french doors, high ceilings, and generous sized windows. Comfortable and elegant, this tastefully decorated living area has a Pier 1 sofa, 2 oversized chairs, and 2 occasional chairs. Floor lamps as well as recessed lighting create multiple opportunities to curl up with a good book on a lazy saturday or rainy sunday.
Across from the living area with views onto the terrace is the office area with writing desk, retrieved from a Mandarin Hotel renovation a few years ago. This Mahogany Art Deco Contemporary piece has a chinese red insert drawer that sits below a removable glass top. With stainless steel anklets, the legs of the desk look very elegant and sanguine. Just the perfect setting to open up that MacBook and do some work.
Adjacent to the living room is the dining area, with seating for 6. This oversized glass top table uses as a base 2 pieces of Black African Granite, mined in the caves of South Africa near Johannesburg. It was cheaper to purchase than to ship!
On the opposite side of the dining room wall are the kitchen and powder room. The large eat-in kitchen, with its African slate tile floor, was renovated in 2008 and has all stainless steel appliances. The refrigerator has a water dispenser, the oven is electric, as is dishwasher and microwave oven. There is generous counter space with under-the-cabinet lighting. The kitchen has a circular wood block table with chairs that looks out onto the quiet street though 2 ivy-surround windows. There is a flat screen television in the kitchen.
The powder room is painted in Ralph Lauren's Hunting Coat Red. There are both a Kohler Pedestal Sink and Kohler Faucets.
The 2 bedrooms are located on the upper floor and are accessed via the staircase off the entry room hallway. The front bedroom has a 2 poster Queen Bed. There is a Duncan Phyfe upholstered settee and antique small coffee table, perfect for a nice evening read or morning coffee before heading downstairs with the group. This front bedroom, called the Master, has 3 custom built closets along the south wall. This bedroom shares a hall bath.
The rear bedroom has an en-suite bathroom with marble tiles, a rainshower showerhead, Kohler pedestal sink and oversized medicine cabinet. This rear bedroom has 2 Antique Mahogany Double Beds, with large flatscreen on adjacent wall. This bedroom has good closet space and storage using open storage cubes.
This is a perfect package of a good location, tastefully appointed, quiet and relaxed home with access to Baseball, Metro, Shops, Restaurants and the Waterfront. This home is perfect for the family visiting on vacation, the business executive bringing his or her family, Baseball enthusiasts, or anyone seeking an International Flair on a yet decidedly American experience!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and wish it had been longer.Bernard takes good care of his guests and gave us the name of his driver who took us on a short tour of the city, gliding through traffic with a smoothness we've never experienced in a taxi in the big city...

We had a great time staying at this penthouse on Scott Circle. It was in a perfect location for many restaurants and sightseeing options. The amenities were very nice and the owner Bernard was never a short
phone call away...

This was our first foray into VRBO territory and it could not have been a more pleasant and rewarding experience. We're seasoned home exchangers, so the idea of sharing another person's living quarters
was not foreign to us. What a pleasant surprise, though, to discover this stylish and comfortable living space just a short distance from all the major sights of the Nation's capital. We were not only treated to all the comforts of our own home, we were also helped through the
process by a helpful and accessible owner, who was quick to respond to our orientation questions about the arrangement, the apartment and the environs without hesitation. Forget the pricey hotels. We would
strongly recommend this apartment if you're looking for a comfortable, safe, first-rate stay in DC...
