I am semi-retired from the commercial real estate business and my wife recently retired from the Beaufort Co. School System. We look forward to spending more time on the river, as well as enjoying more time with family, friends and our two grandchildren.
The Owner purchased this cabin in 1995
I was born and raised in Beaufort County, North Carolina. I returned to the area to be near my aging parents and to enjoy a slower paced lifestyle, focusing on what I value the most. After returning to the area, I remarried in 2005. My wife and I now split our time between our two homes. The cabin is not just a rental, but our second home.
When staying at this property, my wife and I enjoy relaxing and entertaining family and friends by the pool. We also love kayaking and boating. However, our favorite thing to do is enjoy our morning coffee in the porch rockers or in the sunroom overlooking the pool and Bath Creek. At the day's end, the sunsets are spectacular whether viewed from the boathouse deck, the porches, pool decks or sunroom.
My family cannot say enough wonderful things about this vacation home! The home is lovely and clean. The location is even better than the pictures! The owners were very friendly, helpful, and honest. We are a Midwest family. Having the opportunity to catch crab, kayak, swim in an amazing pool, and enjoy beautiful sunsets on a fantastic dock are things we do not get an opportunity to do where we live. The owners provided so many wonderful things for us to use free of charge. They care about their home and the comfort of their guests. We took the Swan Quarter ferry to Ocracoke island for the day, toured Washington, NC, took the ferry to Aurora where we dug for fossils and visited their museum where I bought a great pair of fossil earrings made by the lady at the counter. We even bought a bucket of the mined dirt from the museum and brought it to Missouri where my 12 yr old son and I found tons of fossils in it! Bath, NC is quiet and full of history. The people are very friendly and welcoming. If you are looking for a great home, trustworthy owners, relaxation, fun and adventure, then rent this home! We plan to return! Thank you, Larry and Carol, for opening your home to our family!
We loved our stay at your place in bath, NC. The home is great and we really enjoyed the pool and dock. The peace and quiet was unbelievable. Thanks so much for the great hospitality. We definitely hope we can make a return visit someday. Thanks Glenn and Dee
When we learned we were invited to an engagement party in Bath, NC, we marked the date on the calendar in ink. We were so excited to visit this historic city and began searching for a place to stay. We wanted to be in a home within walking distance to town & all the sites. This is the place! The home and grounds are spotless, inviting and so relaxing. Carol is a gracious hostess. As others have mentioned, the sunroom was our favorite landing spot. We hope to return. I wholeheartedly recommend this home!

We three ladies spent 3 nights at this wonderfully kept home in Bath. Located in a very peaceful neighborhood right on Bath Creek the pictures here accurately represent the rental except that the sunroom is far better than shown here (we lived in that room!). It was too cool yet for us to use the pool (which is large and very clean), although after a long day of hiking thru Goose Creek State Park (within 15 minutes toward Washington, NC) we did soak our aching feet and enjoyed being by the pool. What I especially liked were the very many seating areas inside and outside to sit and enjoy the views, a book, a glass of wine, or what have you, so that any time of the year this would be a nice place to chill out. We also took advantage of the 2 kayaks included and that was a perk which is rare in any rental. Watching the sunsets on the adirondack chairs at the end of the dock were wonderful. Carol, the owner, met us when we arrived, showed us around and gave us some pointers and was also extremely helpful with information and questions while we were booking the rental. We brought all of our own food, so can't comment on any of the local restaurants (few and far between). The owners are continuing to improve the property and understand a walkway thru the yard from the house to the dock was scheduled while we were there but it was put off until after we left (thanks Carol!) All in all, we couldn't have been happier with our choice to stay here and would definitely return if we're in the area again.
Such a charming home and lovely owners. We used everything from the kayaks and the pool, to the crab trap on the pier. Everything we needed was provided.(Could definitely use one good large skillet) The views are spectacular and we were blessed with some beautiful weather. Even the one evening with rain was a pretty impressive lightning show. Our only regret was that we didn't have a full week to enjoy this great cabin. I will recommend this to everyone. We will be back!
My family and I recently returned after a one week stay at this beautiful property. As we return to our routine we find great enjoyment in the memories of our week in Bath.
