OCEAN VIEWS & WATCH THE WHALES OFF THE LANAI @PARADISE ALA KAI

Keaau House Rental Photos and Description

House, 3 Bedrooms, 2 Baths, (Sleeps 6)

Relax in a three-bedroom, two-bath house with a large ocean view lanai. Better to watch the whales on their travels north. You may even hear their ‘singing’ especially at night when all is quiet. Walking the ocean front road and paths with awesome views of the ocean and beautiful homes and tropical foliage will become your favorite exercise. Watch cruise ships pass many evenings. Enjoy the moon shining on the water while relaxing on the lanai after your day of touring our beautiful island.

Our home is furnished island style with rattan, wicker, tropical prints, local art work, and ceiling fans. For your indoor activity enjoy the 40” HD, satelite TV with DVR, DVD & CD, stereo and a lender library for your reading pleasure.

Lie in the queen bed in the master bedroom enjoy the ocean view through the sliding door. The yellow room sports a double bed and the blue room has twins all with mirrored closet doors.

We are centrally located for the adventurous traveler to discover the beauty of the East side of the Big Island. Close to Volcano National Park, Lava Tree State Park, Kapoho Tide Pools, botanical gardens, zoo & oh so much more!

Hilo has old-Hawaii storefronts, a farmers\flea market, and cultural events (such as the Merrie Monarch Hula Festival, Tahiti Fete and Big Island Hawaiian Music Festival). Pahoa with its mix of Cowboy and Victorian character with wooden sidewalks is close by and has some of the best small restaurants in East Hawaii. There is much more to see and explore in East Hawaii .

The Makuu Farmers Market is a must! Every Sunday 7am to 4 pm the market sells fresh island produce, crafts, flea market, fantastic food booth and local musicians share their talent.

Other activities not to miss:

Kapoho Tide Pools offer wonderful snorkeling or sunbathing on the rocks surrounding the pool!

Ahalanui Park county park features thermally heated mineral pond right on the ocean.

Pohoiki is a popular surfing, swimming and hangout for locals. Also has a boat ramp for fishing boats.

Kalapana Lava Site located at the end of Highway 130. You need to hike in to view the flowing lava going into the ocean

Volcanoes National Park the Kilauea Caldera, the home of Pele, the Hawaii goddess of volcanoes and fire and the Thurston Lava Tubes.

Richardson Beach Park is one of the best snorkeling beaches in Hawaii! It's also great for swimming, scuba diving, kayaking and body surfing.

Punaluu Black Sand Beach is a great place to see sea turtles.

Don't forget the Hilo Zoo and Imiloa Astronomy Center.

What we love about our side of the Big Island is the small town flavor. People are friendly, there are no freeways, everyday is an adventure even if you just set on the lanai you may spot whales or dolphins frolicking so close you can see their eyeballs. The air is clean and often has the scent of flowers. You can pick guava, mangos and lilikoi just walking the trails. Nature is all around no hustle no bustle. We love our piece of the island.
