Large, new construction, quiet, waterfront, 3-bedroom home with an adjacent cabin on Kimball Pond in Vienna, Maine. Nestled in the western mountains next to the Belgrade Lakes region of Maine, this lakefront home has all the amenities including a fully stocked kitchen and bath with a shower and vintage clawfoot tub. It has a beautiful centrally located gas fireplace with additional electric heating. Ceiling fans throughout circulate the heat in the winter and the cool breeze off the water in the summer. Screened-in porches are on the east and west side of the house allowing time to relax in the rocking chairs without fear of insects or the hot sun in summer. The three bedrooms have a king size bed, a queen and a twin. The floors are hardwood and tile. A large flatscreen TV with DVD/VCR player is provided as is cable access. Cell phone reception is good.
A long paved driveway brings you down to the house where there is plenty of parking for cars, trucks and trailers. A wooden boardwalk brings you down to the water from the house and a dock gives you area to tie up your small boat, kayak or canoe. The pond has a sandy bottom which is perfect for swimming and the pond itself is home to a family of loons and lots of trout. Two kayaks are stored under the deck and may be used at any point.
A large firepit is positioned between the house and the water and is surrounded by boardwalk and decking with plenty of room for chairs. Firewood is chopped and stored on the cabin's front porch.
The cabin is connected by decking to the main house and is perfect for another family or the kids. It has a main area with wood stove and half bath. Stairs bring you up to two sleeping lofts with a queen sized bed and two twin beds.
The trout fishing on Kimball Pond is good and there are ample lakes nearby with boat launches. Hiking and biking are fun and easy with lots of wildlife to look at. Snowshoeing and snowmobiling are excellent in the winter with access to trails nearby. Leaf peeping is famous in this area and it's worth a visit just for that. Lots to do and a beautiful place to call home for your vacation!

I am managing this property for my mother and father who live in the adjacent town. My father inherited this land from his father but only recently built on it. He built this home himself with timber harvested from the land. My parents have lived in this area their entire lives and have built this property to help assist them financially now that they have retired.
Melissa Ames purchased this house in 2004
My family and I love this area. It's beautiful, peaceful, quiet and very relaxing. It's wonderful to be able to shut out the world and look up into the stars at night and listen to the loons or have a hot cup of coffee in the morning and watch the sunrise.
The area is secluded so it's really fun to go kayaking first thing in the morning to see the wildlife in the fog or hike up the road to see the moose.
In the winter it's a treat to snowshoe over the vast expanse of white and then return to the house for a hot shower and a good book.
It's close enough to Farmington, Belgrade Lakes or Augusta if you want to go to a restaurant or see a movie.
There are plenty of roads to bike on-gravel and paved.
The pond is relatively shallow too, so the swimming is wonderful in the summer!
