Escape to our inviting log home, enjoy the views from the decks. It is quiet and private, and you feel the stress drain away as soon as you step out on the deck.
This 3 BR, 3.5 BA home has room to spare so you all feel comfortable. Each bedroom has its own full bath. Carpeted downstairs has 2 BR, and den with pool table, game system, and satellite TV. Wood floored upstairs has kitchen, dining room, and den with satellite TV, and the carpeted master BR (with satellite TV).
Fireplace wood provided, and kitchen also has a blender, iced tea maker, crockpot, griddle, and usual pots & pans. If you don't feel like cooking, a number of local restaurants have great food, casual or more dressy. (We find it hard to leave the house once we get there and start relaxing.)
Walk the dogs up and down the neighborhood road, take naps with the fresh mountain air blowing through the windows, shoot a game of pool, listen to music, watch movies, work on a jigsaw puzzle (several provided) or play the games we have stocked. The house welcomes you to escape and relax!

Our kids and our dogs have loved relaxing there, and we have explored all over the area. The full length porches really give us plenty of room for all of us, and all rooms have sliding glass doors to the porches for easy access. It is a true getaway home for us. We are looking forward to one day retiring up there and calling it home permanently.
John Alcorn at Great Smoky Rentals purchased this cabin in 2004
We purchased the home while it was being built, because the views absolutely sold us. It spoke to us of 'come away' and unwind. There are still not many homes on this mountain, and it is very quiet. You can see hawks, hummingbirds, chipmunks, wild turkey, and deer.
The fresh air and quiet truly is a break from our routine. The dogs love to be taken for a long walk, followed by a long nap!
Be sure to look for the craft fairs, street dances, and bike rallies in Waynesville or Maggie Valley, and check out the local restaurants (like the milkshakes at Ammons or BBQ at Butts on the Creek).
everything about the cabin is so welcoming and comfortable. the views over the mountains changed throughout the day - it was so beautiful and so peaceful. we were also thrilled with our visits to Cataloochee and Cades Cove. To experience wildlife in a natural setting is a rare and exciting opportunity. We saw many elk, and in Cades Cove we watched a mama bear and her cubs feeding. Other highlights include shopping and dining. More than anything we emjoyed the beautiful creation God made for us
We had a great week even though we left a day earlier than planned. The weather forecast was dicey and we didn't want to get stuck. You should definitely try to arrive during daylight. We got in late and that hairpin turn is nervewracking when your lights don't go around the corner. We'd love to come back in the spring and fall.
The owner and management company were very easy to work with and were able to get us in at the last minute! The living room is exactly as pictured and very comfortable. We enjoyed the fireplace and had a great time.
We had a great time, beautiful fall leaves, apples, cider, and a winter snowstorm. We stayed in for 2 days while it snowed, built fires, made soup, and S'Mores. Coming from Florida it was very cold but we're originally from Massachusetts so it reminded us of home. The hikes in the Smokies and Blue Ridge were breath taking. This was our 3rd Fall trip to the area so we'll definitely go back. Downtown Waynesville was very quaint, great restaurants and shops. We loved the house, all the sliders looking out at the mountains and we enjoyed making a snowman on the deck and playing pool downstairs. We would definitely recommend this house and area to other people.
My husband and I stayed here for an extended weekend. This property was great for us! The view is truly breathtaking. We arrived mid-morning Friday, since there was no prior rental, they let us in early. We went straight to the porch and did not leave the rockers until dark. When the other reviews say the view changes throughout the day, they were right! The leaves are just now changing. I'm glad we picked this cabin, as it is roughly 4300 ft and the leaves change sooner in the higher elevations(I read this before picking our cabin). It's secluded way up on the mountain side which was also adventurous for us. We played pool one day, but we mostly enjoyed sitting upstairs either on the porch or fireside admiring the view. We did venture out to Bryson City on Saturday to do the Great Smokey Mountain Railroad-Nanatahala Gorge tour. That was a great tour. You get dinner and cocktails and the leaves and scenery were fabulous. Thank you Betsy for allowing us to enjoy your little piece of heaven! I hope we can do it again next year! This was one of the most relaxing get-aways we've ever done.
Firstly, the pictures don't do the cabin and the view justice. The view off of the balcony is absolutely breath taking. I could have spent all day and afternoon on the balcony.
The cabin itself is super clean, well kept up, and beautiful. It has the perfect mountain cabin feel to it with a WONDERFUL fireplace and a fully stocked firewood stack outside. The pool table downstairs was an excellent addition for our weekend. I would go back in a heart beat if I had more time!! LOVE LOVE LOVE this cabin!! :)
We had a great time. This log home was perfect and felt like home. It was very clean and had everything we needed to make a perfect geat away vacation. The view is absolutling amazing! It was ever changing and "Oh!" what pictures we took. We can't wait to come back again. I will be sure to spread the word about this fabulous place.
