Hua Hin is located 200 kilometres south of Bangkok on the west coast of Gulf of Thailand. The town is easily accessible via highway and also by plane or train. Banyan Resort, where the villa is located, is only 5 km south of the a Hin town centre and about 5 minutes (by car) away from the beautiful, white sandy Khao Takaib Beach, on which you can walk all the way up to the Hua Hin town centre.
Royal Residence Hua Hin:
Hua Hin is the oldest and the most traditional beach resort in Thailand. The summer residence of the king, the old fishing village with a kilometre-long beach is one of the most prestigious holiday destinations for Thai people. In the last decade, Hua Hin was listed as the topmost holiday destination for attracting visitors from all around the world, many of whom hail from Germany and Scandinavia.
In 1929, during the reign of King Rama VII, the Klai Kangwon Royal Palace was built right on the beach. Klai Kangwon (i.e. 'without worry', similar to the German equivalent Sanssouci) is still the official residence of the King of Thailand, in which he spent most of his time during recent years. His presence guarantees a strong military and police force in Hua Hin, which results in a controlled development of the town with very few crimes.
In 1924, Royal Hua Hin Golf Course opened as the first in Thailand. Today, the gulf region of Thailand has developed 10 golf courses, all within 30 minutes of Hua Hin by car. These include two championship courses. One of them is the Banyan Golf Course, awarded the 'Best New Golf Course in Asia Pacific’ the very first year of its existence (2009) by leading golf magazine, 'Asian Golf'.
