The Comforts of Home in Historic San Miguel de Allende

This has been one of the nicest places to stay as I wake up to a vista and can see the big pink church reflected in the closet mirrors when my eyes first open.
the clean air, the quiet and tranquil surroundings, the friendly neighborhood for me were the reasons I felt like this was my home. On the other hand, hiking up and down the hills to the Jardin was either a 30 peso cab drive or a good 30 plus minute walk to the centro historical area on cobblestone streets. Your ankles must be strong and you do see much more by foot walking and appreciating the daily life around you and the architecture that amazes me because I am an artist and art photographer. This is Mexico and some conveniences are in short supply. It is worth adjusting to the way of life in this colorful area of Mexico as the tours to other towns, landmarks, ruins, and attractions can be done within 5 to 8 hours each day, including up and down hills walking in the heat. bring good shoes, a good hat, and sunblock, and many pesos. The restaurants are amazing, especially, Don Diabla a Oaxacan Mexican Cafe that is artsy, delicious and authentic with mole sauces with ingredients directly and only from Oaxaca, and affordable.
