Also available starting at $150/night, $825/week; call owner at 802 999 7224
The Orange Blossom House is a 3-bed, 2-bath Gulfport gem in a quiet, walkable neighborhood one block from the prestigious Stetson University College of Law (housed in a stunning former 1920s hotel). Gulfport’s funky beach and arts district is only 2 miles away, St. Pete Beach, 3 miles, and Treasure Island, 5. You’ll have it all – a quiet, laid-back, family-oriented neighborhood great for long strolls plus easy access to the Gulf Coast’s bustling beach communities. St. Petersburg is right there too, with its many restaurants, antique stores, museums, Tropicana Field, and top-notch medical and educational institutions.
The house, built in 1948, was gutted and renovated in 2013. It's decorated with tropical greens, blues and whites, original artwork, and cool tile floors. It has an open floor plan, lots of windows and a lovely sun room overlooking a huge, fenced-in back yard with citrus trees and mature vegetation where children and pets can play safely. Two bedrooms have queen beds and one has two twins. Sofa beds can accommodate two other guests. The house is on an enormous double lot, set back far from the street and neighboring homes. There's even room to park a small boat or camper inside the fence. The landscaping is a work in progress, but is getting there :)

I was born in Louisiana, grew up in Puerto Rico, went to high school in New Hampshire and attended college in Colorado. After college I did a stint in the Peace Corps in South Korea and traveled before going back to school to earn a master's in journalism. I worked as a reporter and editor for about 25 years and continue to do freelance editing at my home. In July 2014 I moved to Gulfport from Vermont after several years of planning.
Helen purchased this house in 2013
Guestbook comments from the owner
"thanks Helen. you have a very nice vacation rental in our favorite little Florida town. you have everything anyone could want or need. It was a perfect place to stay while we conducted our search. we did find a condo and they accepted our offer. So we will soon become Florida residents and no longer snowbirds. Our dogs really liked the back yard and playing with Maximus. He would come to the back door and want them to come out and play."
