BEAUTIFUL WINE COUNTRY GETAWAY - WALKING DISTANCE TO GLEN ELLEN

Glen Ellen Cottage Rental Photos and Description

2 Bedrooms, 1 Bath (Sleeps 4)

This quaint cottage is a wine country gem, with its bright and cheerful rooms inside and its plethora of olive trees and California Oak outdoors. Two bedrooms with double beds and closet space are sure to make you and your guests feel at home, no matter the duration of your stay.

Enjoy the wine country in Glen Ellen! It is the enchanted area of writer Jack London, wineries like Benziger, sophisticated restaurants, or just the bliss of relaxing with a local glass of wine, get the grill going, and prepare something from the incredible selection at Glen Ellen Market ...

This wine country cottage provides you with a cozy atmosphere. Cook up a big meal for friends in the fully-stocked kitchen that’s ready to go, and enjoy it at the breakfast nook with seating for four. If cooking on the grill is more your style, there is a BBQ out back and plenty of outdoor seating to choose from. Relax in the shade of the olive trees before curling up in front of the flat-screen TV in the front room! It's elegantly furnished, has two rooms with comfortable beds, a full-size kitchen, a bright and airy living room, and the great Sonoma Wine Country all around it.

There are numerous ancient olive trees on the property, roses in the front, a great picknick area out back and on its west side (great for sunsets), a heat lamp for evenings, direct access to Warm Springs Road for those who love riding their bikes here, and it is literally surrounded by tasting rooms within a 15 minute driving radius.

It is close to the Sonoma Valley Regional Park (great for running and hiking!), or the famous Jack London park with its Jack London Museum and peaceful gardens. Drive up to Morton's Warm Springs and dip into their pools, or drive over the scenic Warm Springs Road to the Kenwood area for more wine tasting than may fit into a single weekend - or just walk to Glen Ellen, with its variety of restaurants, a tasting room, the GE market, or the Jack London Lounge and Bar.

There is also lots of room for dogs to safely roam as its 0.6 acres are fully enclosed by a beautiful redwood fence that also provides additional privacy. It's adjacent to a large former 2 acre orchard with no building on it, adding to the green scenery and secluded feeling of the place.

I've always dreamed about a place in the wine country - and now I'd love to share it with you!

I live in San Francisco, and would be more then happy to help with recommendations in town, in the wine country, in Napa, or up and down the Pacific Coast as I love to explore this wonderful part of California. I'm a huge fan of the culture and life style in Sonoma. You'll love it too!

Georg Gottschalk purchased this cottage in 2010

It's perfect: Lots of wine tasting, great weather, close to San Francisco - I live in Noe Valley, and it takes me just 1 hour and 15 minutes to drive up, observing the speed limit all the way (huge recommendation - do not speed!! They're always out there ...). The house is cozy, lots of room around it as I like to be outside most of the time, and while small inside it has everything you'd ever need.

My wife and I really enjoyed our stay at the cottage. The property is quite large, and nicely fenced so our dog could run around and play without worry. The cottage itself is small, but well furnished. The size was certainly not a problem, and overall made us feel cozy. A great place to enjoy a coffee in the morning.

The best part is the location: a short walk to downtown. Since our last trip to GE, there are new restaurants, and other places were updated. It really is a nice town for brunch, and the Jack London park is very close as well.

A short drive from the Bay Area. Will be back soon (hopefully!)

If you are looking for a fun and relaxing getaway from the rat race, I highly recommend this cottage.

First of all, the owner is great at communication. He was in touch with me as soon as I requested a quote and provided a lot of helpful information. I don't think booking this place could have gone any more smoothly due to the owner's phenomenal communication.

Also, the place is stocked with everything you need: towels, kitchen stuff, linens, etc. Things are also labeled well so you know where things are.

The property is huge (about 0.5 acre) and very private. It's quite romantic since you can enjoy a fire or stay inside the cozy confines of the cottage. The proximity to everything else is also great. You are just a 5 - 10 minute walk from two great restaurants (Glen Ellen Star and The Fig Cafe) or you can just get in your car and get there in under a minute. I probably recommend car since walking can be a bit dangerous since there is no sidewalk but we were careful and had no problems.

There is still so much more to do all within minutes of each other. You can check out the Jack London State Park which is really neat as well as Mayo Winery. Great wines and very nice people there. Also, the Glen Ellen Market has fantastic cuts of meats and an unbelievable wine selection. We made dinner on Saturday night on the BBQ and was able to watch the World Series later on.

It takes just 1.5 hours to get there from the peninsula without traffic and you can easily get to Napa Valley in about 30 minutes.

The location of this place and the way it’s kept well makes all of this possible. Also, the price is very reasonable compared to other places. Why stay in a hotel when you can have your own house for a weekend. My girlfriend and I had a great time and we will be back for sure!

Me and my wife stayed here for a friends wedding, and the cottage was very cute, clean, calm and relaxing. Walking distance to town. The listing description was accurate and the owner was very accessible and prompt in his responses. I would strongly recommend it.

We were lucky enough to rent this cottage at the last minute due to a cancellation over Labor Day weekend to escape the smoke from the Yosemite fire that had enveloped our home town. Although we were simply looking for a spot of clean air, this cottage far exceeded our expectations. We travelled with our small dog who was safely secured in the large, fenced yard. The house itself is small, but well equipped and cozy. The crown jewel of the property is the private, relaxing, comfortable yard that includes several "hang-out areas". We spent our weekend on the side patio, breathing clean air, observing the activities (or lack there of) in the open lot next door while sipping wine and sampling local cheeses. The town of Glen Ellen is quaint and within a short, 5 minute walk of the cottage. The Garden Court Café has a wonderful breakfast menu and there are several tasting room and other restaurants nearby. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and we'd love to go back someday!
