Central Austin Home That Has It All. If You Can't Walk, It's An Easy Drive
We start your Austin story off with a large and lovely front porch, its two rocking chairs and glass patio dining set nestled under the added shade of a towering pecan tree that shades nearly the entirety of the lush green lawn. It's a perfect place to lie low, unwind, get some work done or greet your neighbors as they jog or walk past. And so you nestle down a while, taking in a deep breath of the fresh Austin air, before noticing your bags still sitting outside the front door. We realize now, it's time to go inside.
Once inside, a sitting room catches our attention immediately - almost an extension of our new friend, Front Porch. Sunlight seeps through the blinds from both the south and west windows, spilling onto a bookshelf that covers the north wall. On this shelf we find good reads and lovely games for me time and/or for the whole family to enjoy. But, before we repeat the mistake of getting too comfortable by testing out one of the antique sitting chairs, we mosey over across the hall, into a small branch of a hallway, where bedrooms 1 and 2 await.
Bedrooms 1 and 2 are both quaint and unique. We'll call them the 'Blue Room' and the 'Red Room'. Each comes equipped with at least one night stand, a bedside lamp and alarm clock. Each has a large dresser and closet. But Blue has two comfy twin beds freshly dressed in lush blue bedding, while Red has an inviting queen wrapped in a luxurious crimson and comfy pillows. Red also has an mp3 player. We like these rooms, but aren't ready to have you claim one just yet. There's a third...somewhere.
Your guest bath greets us just before we leave the hallway. It's a lovely shower/bath combo. As is standard with a VacationCake home, we know that we'll find a hair dryer, three sizes of towels, make-up wipes, soaps and essentials. A quick thumbs-up, and we're off to the next.
We enter the dining area, past large large oak dining table that can accommodate a feast for 6, and into the kitchen. Here, we find nearly everything you'll need. It's a fully stocked kitchen, for cooking, serving, eating and drinking. You find everything from a blender to locally roasted whole bean coffee, and even filtered water. Satisfied, we look over the bar top, where the kitchen opens up into the living room.
A large couch with comfortable seating for at least 6, opens into this entire home from your living room. It faces a large 52' flat screen HD TV. The living space continues on with cable, a dvd player, and a few movies to choose from. And, it ends with true high speed, fiber optic-powered internet (120 mbps download speed, what!?). Again, we're tempted to stay and see what's showing. But, there's still more home to be discovered.
Finally, we find your master bedroom. It's everything we hoped it would be - large, colorful and designed for comfort. Like the other two bedrooms, we find a large dresser (though a little larger), nightstands, lamps, an alarm clock, mp3 player and even tissue. But, what makes this room a treasure could be its king bed, its 42' television, or its many window that naturally light the softly-colored room. But, wait. The true gem of this room awaits in a final chamber to our right, your master bathroom.
On top of being fully stocked, like the other (and all VacationCake homes), we find a large king size bath and separate shower. There's also a separate room for the toilet - great idea. There are two sinks and a large mirror. And, deeper still, we enter the walk-in closet to find your washer and dryer.
At last, you put your things down, and claim the master bedroom. The others might be a wee jealous. But, this find was yours. We approve.

Why Julia Bower chose Austin
Hyde Park is an even mix of city life with a quaint feel. With much of Austin's action happening within a 3 mile radius, you'll have quick access to the University of Texas, downtown, the Austin Convention Center, and many other Austin happenings. Conveniently situated between Red River and Guadalupe street (and a straight shot to I-35), you don't have to be a master navigator to drive around. And, if you don't feel like driving, you can simply step outside to catch the bus that stops within 30 feet of your front door. Also, with a few varieties of local restaurants and shops within a 5 minute walk, you don't have to venture far for a night out. Or, when you're not feeling like a tourist, you can also walk to Shipe Park or one of the nearby cafés, and simply lay low.
What makes this house unique
This home is also ideal for large groups, looking for 3 - 5 bedrooms - up to 11 people (though we are NOT a party house). You can bring your large group for weddings, seminars, SXSW, UT games/events, ACL, F1 and more.
