The 3 bedroom home is a simple timber home with a basic beach house feel. Don’t worry about getting a little sand on the floors inside. It’s easy to clean. Gilligans has 2 new bathrooms and a new kitchen. There is a large lounge and dining area with unique furniture. The facilities are clean and comfortable. You'll probably spend most of your time on the front veranda, our beachfront bar, or our popular Cabana looking out to the stunning views of the pristine beach and the blue waters of the marine park area, or you can enjoy a few beers or cold drinks as you relax. Its very quiet here! Very few neighbours, and they won't bother you. Most of our neighbours work for us.
The rooms are quite airy and usually cool as we are beside the sea. The rooms have mosquito screens and mosquito nets are provided for each bed.
You are welcome to do your own cooking or enjoy the basic Filipino home style cooking of our caretaker Estrellia. She will gladly prepare basic but tasty meals for you.
We do it Island Style: Island hopping, swimming, skinny dipping (not mandatory), boating, fishing, kayak to the nearby waterfalls, bush walks, Bar-B-Ques on uninhabited islands, are just to name a few of the possible activities. If you ask our assistant Roger, he'll even cut some coconuts so you can drink fresh juice. It’s so refreshing, even better with some Malibu Rum, so bring some with you.
Drinking cocktails or cold beer, eating fresh seafood, sleeping, reading, relaxing, and walks along the beach are some other popular pastimes. There are always new treasures being washed up onto the beach such as shells, starfish and driftwood. Explore!
Great for 6 - 8, but it's very romantic for couples. We've even held a wedding here. Gilligans has 3 bedrooms is best suited for up to 6 persons but we can place an extra bed or beds for those who don't mind a few extra people around. The third bedroom is very large so we installed a privacy screen in the middle. We have some photos on our Facebook and Flickr sites which show how the house is set up.
The weekly package rate covers the rental of the home, housekeeping, standard Breakfasts for up to 6 persons, an Island Hopping adventure for up to 6 persons including a Beach Barbecue lunch, ( Not applicable for short term stays under 6 days ). Additional charges apply for Breakfasts and Island Hopping for extra guests over 6 persons. Larger groups should consult with our office for pricing, as we may need another boat to accomodate a larger party. Email us and we'll send lots more information and some links to our photo pages and youtube link as soon as we receive your enquiry.

About Michell Ignacio
I built our first home in Port Barton as we felt that this area was paradise and had the same potential as Boracay, without the crowds and overdevelopment. We have 2 beachfront homes in Port Barton, both listed in VRBO. We decided to rent the homes to help cover the costs of maintenance and to share the charm and beauty of this area. The feeling we have every time we arrive here is exciting. The homes are simple and it's the freedom and peace we feel here that we enjoy most. Cruising through the islands, swimming on our own beach and enjoying this very special place. I'm sure you'll also enjoy that special feeling.
Michell Ignacio purchased this villa in 2007
Why Michell Ignacio chose Palawan
We recently purchased Gilligans Hideout from a friend that had lived in the home for many years. After 16 years he decided to head to the big smoke to enjoy retirement closer to civilisation. We've added lots of amenities since then including a solar power system, solar hot water system, lights, refrigeration, satelite TV, a new kitchen and many other creature comforts. We love the privacy of this area as there are few neighbours in the area and we rarely see anyone else walk past along the beach. The clear water and magnificent beach are exactly like the photos and the scenery at Gilligans is absolutely stunning. At night, try lying on the beach to watch the stars, comets and high flying planes and shooting stars. Sometimes we see fireflies. Then, go down to the beach and run your hands through the water and watch the water sparkle and glow from bioluminescence caused by microscopic animals in the water. This is a must do!
What makes this villa unique
There are few places in the world where you find such a stunning location with such privacy for such a low nightly price. At Gilligans you can choose to do your own meals or we can do it all for you. It's your choice. The views from our home are stunning. You'll forget about work the moment you step of the boat onto the beach.
Guestbook comments from the owner
Over the last year I have stayed in many peaceful places, but the serenity of Gilligan’s Hideaway Guest House surpasses them all. I thought I’d learnt to unwind, but not completely I found out. Gilligan’s is located at Nao Nao, a one kilometer stretch of beach about 5 km by boat north of Port Barton Town. Apart from a couple of native huts at the far end of the beach, and a caretakers’ house at the back of Gilligan’s, there is no other signs of human habitation.
The large timber three bedroom house sits on stilts, a few feet off the ground and about 20 meters back from the water’s edge. The front of the house has a huge covered verandah. Sitting there at night in one of the cane rocking chairs is sublime. There is only the night sky to light up the beach and ocean. In the far distance can be seen the twinkling of the lights from San Vicente. Not a manmade sound is to be heard and the ringing in ones ears from the silence is rhythmically interrupted by the waves gently exhausting onto the foreshore.
I sat on the beach very early one morning watching the dawn break. From there I saw a pod of dolphins slowly traversing the bay, only 50 meters from the shore. Fish frequently flew out of the water to escape their prey………………..
