About Doriana Chialant

This suite was my first home in Cambridge: I loved the neighborhood, the building, the space and our life here so much, I could not let go of it when I upgraded to a bigger unit. I have lived in other countries and cities, but find that Cambridge gives me the right balance of architecture, city living, easy country and beach access, outdoor activities, river walks and tree-lined streets and peaceful ponds.

Doriana Chialant purchased this condo in 1999

Why Doriana Chialant chose Cambridge

Enjoy all that Cambridge can offer (just about anything you can think of) without worrying about how to get there or having to carry anything with you: you can always stop by home for a few minutes of relaxation, have a meal delivered to you, use your own facilities.... and then hop back into the swing of New England living. Or rent a bike or a car by the hour to get a bit further out to reach downtown Boston, ski resorts, beaches, the Cape, the Berkshires....

What makes this condo unique

It is the perfect size for a peaceful get away in the heart of the city. I also love the unit's simple lines, large original windows, high ceilings, original molding, original wood floors and preserved space proportions. The building is usually very quiet and the residents tend to have a laid back and friendly attitude.

Lovely apartment in great location

  • 5 of 5

I would highly recommend this apartment, for both long and short stays in Cambridge. We stayed here for 6 months (with our newborn!) while in town for a visiting professorship and found it suited our needs perfectly. Although very 'cosy' with the three of us in there, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. This would be perfect for a single or couple and has all the conveniences you need for a comfortable stay - whether you choose to self cater or take advantage of the many cafes, restaurants and bars in the area. Doriana (owner) lives upstairs and was very helpful any time we had questions about the apartment or local services. The location is perfect, just 10 min walk to Central or Harvard Squares (T red line) and buses running along Mass Ave that can take you into town, over to Brookline or all the way to South Boston! Overall, we had an awesome time staying here and would do so again in a heartbeat if work bought us back to Boston.

Compact ap't- excellent location & host-Thanks.

  • 5 of 5

A very compact and serviceable apartment in a solid brick-built mansion block which accommodated two parents and young adult daughter quite comfortably for three nights. Excellent location in a quiet tree-lined residential suburb of Cambridge Mass., not unlike London or Manchester back home, a few blocks' walk from Harvard campus. Our host, Doriana was very helpful and knowledgeable and responded promptly several times to our email questions before we arrived... thanks.

Perfect Weekend Getaway

  • 5 of 5

The apartment is in a great location, a short walk from Harvard Square but far enough away that it's fairly quiet. The place was the perfect size for two although you could have squeezed four, and was extremely clean and tidy. Everything you may need for a short visit was there and the owner was very helpful and friendly and pointed us towards the nearest grocery stores and T stops. Couldn't have asked for a better stay at a more reasonable price, I would stay here again in a heartbeat!

Great Apartment! Great Location! Great Time!

  • 5 of 5

I rented this unit for a relative visiting for a few nights. She really liked the unit and felt at home. I visited her there. I found the unit to be not only very clean and functional, but also warm and charming. We ended up hanging out in town quite a bit and we made some of our meals at home. I found that the kitchen was well-equipped and I found everything I needed to fix what we wanted. The building was quiet as advertised and the residents friendly. The owner was available at the times of arrival and departure, and she was friendly and helpful with any questions.

The apartment is just off Mass Ave and equally distant from Harvard and Central Squares, so everything we needed was within walking distance. A wealth of restaurants was all around, from the fancy to the diner. Small groceries stores, cafes (lots of cafes!), and bookstores, were all just steps away. Transportation was super convenient: subway stations (Harvard and Central), multiple bus lines, bikes from a city hub shared system, zipcar parking spots, and taxi parking sites were only a few minute walk away.

All in all, I would say that this is a perfect spot for a stay, whether for business or leisure. Boston/Cambridge is a great city with tons to do indoors and out. I will certainly recommend this rental again.

The Charles River is around the corner with excellent access during the Regatta. Wonderful neighborhood for walking with tree lined cobblestone streets with Victorian mansions and classic red brick building and the lovely gardens of Harvard Campus, No need for a car, but if you want to take a trip elsewhere, ZipCar parking locations are also just minutes away.
