A Great Winter Escape

This is a fantastic place to escape the frigid NH winter and to spend quality time with our Austin family!! As a retired couple, we appreciate the quiet and peacefulness at the lake this time of the year. We've found mornings to be cool, but the temperature rises quickly during the day, making it enjoyable to spend time reading, relaxing, painting, and sharing meals on the spacious lakeside deck. We’ve had many lighthearted pool contests several evenings in the downstairs rec room. We’ve found that the Internet connection is quite adequate. The owners have been exceptionally considerate and always helpful throughout our stay. The property is immaculate, spacious, very homey and has everything for a pleasurable sojourn. The sunsets are spectacular, and the moon and stars shine brightly nearly every night. The location is in perfect proximity to Austin, a beautiful city offering boundless activities, restaurants and nightlife. Marble Falls is only 15 minutes away; a small, charming city with ample shopping opportunities, the Sana Vida Wellness Spa and Tea Bar, and our favorite restaurant, the Noon Spoon Cafe. Within easy driving distance, there are fascinating historic sites, numerous hiking opportunities, and fine wineries. We've taken many drives in the surrounding area and have found the hill country scenery profoundly beautiful. Everyone we've met is very friendly, from local shopkeepers, to strangers on the street, to the nearby postal employees. To sum up our nearly two month visit, this place is a dream come true, and we plan to return each year at about this time. In the meantime, we will cherish the memories and photos we have of this beautiful area.
