OCEAN VIEW, GROUND FLOOR, 3 POOLS, TENNIS, QUIET BEACH/PRIVATE PIER

While the weather did not cooperate with our girls' golf trip, we loved HHI and the condo! The location was exactly as described and more. The beach was just steps away, the courtyard was beautiful and filled with singing birds every morning. The condo is neat and clean, and includes all the necessary items in the kitchen... not that we cooked - we didn't!! There are too many restaurant choices to name, but a couple of our favorites included the Jazz Corner (make reservations well in advance) and the British Open Pub (we liked the fish and chips so much, we visited two of their three locations).
The owner was very welcoming and happily accommodated our early arrival. We will stay here again!!

My family had a wonderful stay in this very nice condo. The condo itself was clean and lovely, everything you could possibly need for a week's stay (including fluffy new beach towels). We loved the screened in porch and would sit every evening and watch the blue heron that would visit the lagoon every day. The near by beach is more on the rustic side, but we really enjoyed that. Great for talking walks and watching the wildlife (my son and I did swim in the ocean here, but you have to watch out for barnacles). It is literally less than a minute walk from the condo. We sat on the peer the first night and listened to the ocean under the peer with a full moon above. The condo is located very near other beaches, so it is a short drive if you are wanting a typical beach experience. The pools are on the small side, but I don't really care for swimming pools and my son swam in them every day so he didn't mind the smallness either. We had a great vacation and were so sorry to leave!!

I wanted to take my wife on a last-minute, long-weekend trip to Hilton Head to celebrate a career milestone of hers, so I jumped over to HomeAway/VRBO to start shopping. This was Friday afternoon, around 3 PM. Barbera and John rolled with it, worked everything out with me in under an hour, and we were in the car after dinner and heading towards the beach! Three nights later, we're back home, appropriately chilled out, and I'm a hero for being a "spontaneous, big idea guy." I give full credit to Barbera and John for being the spontaneous ones, doing in an hour what most owners would require a week to do. Their place was on the mellow, northern side of HHI, clean and outfitted with whatever you need. (We didn't use the amenities like tennis, golf, the big pool, etc., but they were very close.) We chilled at the small pool within 30 yards of the room, walked on the small strip of beach - if you're obsessed with "big beach" needs, this spot might not be for you; the beach here is narrow and it's more of a natural salt marsh area, perfect for clamming and nature walks, but not as "beachy" as some other parts of HHI - and grabbed sushi down the road at Fancy Q. We watched "The Right Stuff" on DVD to honor the passing of Neil Armstrong; we sipped cold beer, lounged around, and got tan. It was quite chill. We don't have kids (yet), so we appreciated the less populated, somewhat-more-remote aspect of the Spa on Port Royal Sound. We'll be back! Thanks for being so responsive, Barbera and John!
