Newly built rear strata duplex in a fabulous location gives you easy access to downtown and all amenities, parks and walkways yet still able to feel comfortable in a neighbourhood that is quiet and friendly. This contemporary two bedroom home features a steam shower in the master bedroom and for a nice soak, enjoy the air Jacuzzi tub in the main bathroom located outside the second bedroom, both on the second floor. There is also an open den area separating the two rooms, perfect for a quiet read or to work on your computer. Main floor is is made enjoyable with infloor heat and hardwood floors, and a gas fireplace to warm you on those cool evenings. For those evenings in, a large screen TV is available when you want it but hidden in wall unit when you don't, keep the cook company sitting at the granite top island, enjoying the view to the backyard. The kitchen features kitchenaid appliances, gas stove, frig with filtered water and icemaker. The casually elegant furnishings and the open floorplan make it an ideal place for entertaining & relaxing. You'll appreciate the fresh clean non-smoking atmosphere of this well appointed 'home away from home.
A convenient location - many people in James Bay do not own a car. The bus stop for downtown is 2 blocks away; the return from downtown bus stop is 1 block away. You can connect to all locations of Greater Victoria from downtown.

at the downtown shops; bus terminal, Victoria Clipper and The Coho ferry
At the Cook Street Village across the park or in the community of James Bay with grocery stores, banks, dry cleaners, and a liquor store

Access the Galloping Goose Trail within 5-10 minutes leading to either The West Shore or Sooke or north to The Saanich Peninsula and the BC Ferry Terminal at Swartz Bay. Both trails are part of The Trans Canada Trail
A short 5-minute walk to the south will bring you to the locals favourite walking spot - The Dallas Road Walkway with panoramic views of The Straits of Juan de Fuca and The Olympic Mountains. Walk the Victoria waterfront and view seals, sea lions, whales, herons, otters, eagles and many sea birds.

My husband, Jack, and I have lived in most areas of Victoria over the past 25 years and have found that James Bay is the perfect place to live. We love walking on the Dallas Road waterfront, through Beacon Hill Park or into the middle of the city to shop or visit our favourite restaurants. Both James Bay Village and nearby Cook Street Village afford wonderful places to browse, eat or sit and watch the world go by.
We enjoy traveling and meeting new people. When away from home, we have found that we are happiest when we can have a comfortable 'home base'; somewhere we can unwind for extended periods of time and can avoid daily interruptions from housekeeping staff or the need to eat out three times a day. We have recently purchased this property from Josie (mentioned in the reviews) and we are excited about offering the same experience to you.

Located in James Bay close to the park and walkways, you can stay here without a vehicle. Amenities are all within a 10 minute walk, grocery, pharmacy, clinics, liquor stores, etc.
My adult son and I spent 5 nights here in March 2015. The home is beautifully modern and well-kept, superbly clean and comfortable. We could not have been happier, with high quality bedding and towels, a lovely gas fireplace to use in the cool evenings and a well-stocked kitchen. Picture windows in the living room look into their gorgeous small garden and at the surrounding trees and residential neighborhood. Best of all, we were able to walk 15 minutes to all major tourist attractions and restaurants, a grocery store, and bus lines. We would love to return some day.
We stayed at Jack and Delia's beautiful home for over three months. We were so pleased with our accomodations. Every possible need was accommodated in the home and the kitchen was a dream to work in. James Bay is my favourite part of the city and it is excellent for walking and exploring. You are a mere 15 minutes walk from the heart of the downtown but live in a quiet, quaint neighborhood. Can't give enough stars to this accommodation.
We really appreciated the beautifully well-appointed, and updated suite. All rooms provided everything we required for a very comfortable stay. The living/dining level had a wall of large windows which extended an open, relaxing ambiance as we looked out onto a lovely garden and patio, yet, provided privacy. And, walking distance to downtown and other stores/restaurants. We looked forward to returning to the suite every evening - it was like returning to our own home. We will definitely recommend this location to others and return ourselves should the need arise. Thanks Delia!
I loved this house. Very quiet neighborhood. Walking distance to anywhere you would want to go in Victoria and very easy bus routes. The house was top quality and had everything . Nothing was missed. Walking into the house after a busy day was like coming home. This was the best holiday rental I have ever had. The owner was very gracious and so helpful. We loved our stay at this location! The attention to detail in this home away from home made it a unique and extremely enjoyable place to stay during our vacation. We did not lack for anything! The place itself is beautifully decorated and very comfortable. We have stayed in many vacation spots and this home had the nicest kitchen of any we've been at. Most places use dishes, pots and pans, etc that are sub par which I assume is because of the wear and tear. This homes kitchen was stocked with nice stuff and everything you might need. I can't say enough about how much we enjoyed our stay, from the back yard garden to the bedrooms, we were completely happy with everything! Thank you Delia, we would love to come back some time!
After having stayed at numerous vacation house rentals over the years, this is by far one of my favorites places to stay. The inside of the duplex looks brand new with newly accented furnishings, large LCD TV (cable), appliances, fireplace, and decent free high bandwidth wi-fi speed. The steam bath in the master bathroom is a nice touch after a long day of activities with the kids. There is a small organic food store one block away where we bought some local products. It's a very quaint farmer's co-op place. One block across the house is a popular grill eatery where the locals eat. The fisherman's wharf and Empress hotel are within 15 minutes of leisurely walks.
The owner, Josie, is always available for questions, which we found to be extremely important prior to our arrival and during our stay. She's done an amazing job with putting the rental unit together. Kudos to her!
