There are four different loops and routes on the trail with the longest route being 5.6 miles from base to summit. The most direct route is 3.6 miles. Please remember to pack extra clothing, food, and water and travel with hiking partners.
Hiking - Leaving directly from Whitefish Mountain Resort Village is the popular hiking experience of the Danny On Trail, which meanders up the slopes of Big Mountain through blooming wildflowers to the 6,817 ft summit, passing through forests and fields. Epic vistas look out over the valley and the mountains from various points along the trail.
