The Savannah Lark - a charming Federalist style two story brick townhouse built in 1854, recently updated and tastefully decorated in antiques and reproduction furniture to help provide the full Savannah experience. The location is ideal - in the Downtown Landmark Historic District between Liberty St. and Oglethorpe Ave., just east of the Colonial Park Cemetery. The townhouse is exactly midway between River Street and Forsyth Park and thus an easy walk to all of Downtown Savannah's attractions.
The Savannah Lark provides two bedrooms, one and a half baths, open living, dining and kitchen areas, and a private, landscaped courtyard for you to enjoy when not out exploring the beautiful city around you. Upstairs the master bedroom has a queen bed and lots of closet space. The other bedroom has matching twin beds and a fireplace. A large bathroom with tub and shower is located between the two and a supplemental half bath is downstairs. An additional twin mattress is available for a fifth companion.
Parking on the street is unmetered and readily available on the adjoining cross street. You will not need an auto for exploring the nearby sights of Savannah or accessing restaurants. The neighborhood is quiet, friendly, safe and feels residential but located in close proximity to the attractions and nightlife of historic Savannah.
Note that this is a self contained end unit brick town house with the original 1854 floor plan and is within the original, over one foot thick masonry walls - not an apartment or condo carved out of an existing home or an old commercial building converted into multiple unit spaces. It is quite private and you do not feel like you are intruding or sharing others living space and their noises. The attached rear courtyard is walled and has a gate with side street access and the space is for your use only, not shared outdoor space as in many other rental units.
For your easy reference, I use and keep updated the VRBO calendar. Check it out for availability of dates.

Love old houses and have worked on many of them over the years. My hobby has become my real vocation since taking early retirement from my corporate job. Real estate has been a passion since buying my first house (built in 1920) when I was 25 and receiving a real learning experience. Own three other rental houses currently.
Larry Meek purchased this townhome in 2011
I was smitten with Savannah when I came for St. Patrick's Day four years ago, Came back several times and wanted to experience the city more completely, so started looking for a place to buy. This townhouse provided a private, comfortable feeling and was in a very convenient neighborhood to everything Downtown had to offer.
The Savannah Lark is a pre Civil War brick Townhouse in a pleasant residential neighborhood that is just a short walk away from the more bustling neighborhoods of downtown. I have enjoyed my time while staying here and working on the updating and then the furnishing and decoration. A lot of effort has been put into enhancing the 19th Century charm while incorporating modern conveniences. Many Antique Malls were searched to secure appropriate American Empire and Duncan Phyfe style furniture and other suitable decorative art and pictures.
We wanted a place within easy walking distance of historical Savannah! Perfect for exploring Savannah; a great place for college friends' reunion! Beautifully decorated and very well stocked townhouse. Yes, there is some traffic noise but it did not deter from enjoying the accommodations! LOVED the restaurant suggestions made by the owner! Would definitely recommend this place to others!!
We loved our stay in the historic townhouse! The accommodations and location were perfect.
The suggestions made by the owner were extremely helpful and he was wonderful to work with.
If I return to Savannah, I will definitely try to stay there again.
My family stayed at this townhome over Thanksgiving weekend. We had plenty of parking to choose from and once we were parked, the car never moved until our departure . You can comfortably and safely walk everywhere. The home was clean and comfortable. We did not cook but there seemed to be plenty of cookware. Plenty of linens and loved having a washer and dryer. Yes, there is some traffic noise as mentioned, but that is anywhere you stay in town. We just filtered the noise at nights with a fan. Not a problem. Larry was always quick to respond and provided information on the surrounding area. Due to the cool weather, we were unable to use the patio but it looked lovely. I would recommend this place to a group of 4-5, you will be comfortable during your stay in Savannah.
Had a great time in Savannah and this home was great. It was comfortable, in walking distance of most sites and just what we needed for a girls trip. The owner was accommodating and helpful. Would definitely stay there again.
My family stayed in the rental the last week of August. We loved the rental and location. One of the best parts was the private courtyard. Kitchen well stocked. Living room comfortable. Beds comfortable. Courtyard plenty big enough for 4 adults and a toddler. Good for families with a pack and play and safety gate. We did have some ants in the kitchen and I contacted the owner and he responded and took care of the problem right away. I read some reviews that complained of street noise. There is a fire station near by so you do hear the occasional siren but we did not find it a problem. At night the while family including a toddler who is a light sleeper slept well with no problems from any street noise. In the future we would use this rental again. Perfect fit for a small group of friends or a small family.
Within walking distance of most of Savannah. The Row House is nice in good clean condition.. The photos are accurate. The stairs to the upstairs are tight. Larry was very good about answering questions and doing the things he said he would do. We went to the Pirate House and had a a very good fried seafood platter. It is about 3 or 4 block walk. Also the trolleys will pick you up and are a great way of getting a feel for what you want to do in Savannah.
Centrally located in the Historic District. Very close to the Colonial Cemetery and midway between River Street and Forsyth Park.
