Very pleased.......
To be honest, we were a little nervous when first driving to the house as we passed a few run-down properties in the neighborhood, which unfortunately the owner of this house can do nothing about. But once inside the house we were really happy. Fresh everything, paint, floors, furniture, kitchen etc....you name, it is clean and fresh. The backyard utilizes the space well and the inside and outside is decorated tastefully with tons of beach charm. The house is somewhat on the small side but with the 3 large sliding doors on the backside of the house leading to the deck, it brings the outside in. WIFI was a concern, as stated by another reviewer, however, with some tweaks on my computer I had it up and running. Signal is poor, but it just required reconnection every time you exited the internet. Other then that it worked fine. Great yard for dogs, fenced in. Since we had our 9 month old with us we were not able to dine at some of the high-end places that were recommended. We were not blown away by the food anywhere, Newport, Bristol, and surrounding areas. However, once again we were going to family restaurants and not fine dinning. Flo's is good, but the hype is higher. The Quahogs/stuffies at Anthony's are way better then Flo's. Anthony's is simple seafood but is the freshest around. Scampi's was average but we really like that fact that the owner holds banquets for the "Boys Home" and picks up the tab, very classy so they had our business twice. Not to mention I left my credit card there the first night and it was held for me when I returned the next day when realizing it was missing. The wineries were fun but rather expensive at 10-12 a tasting. I would recommend the one in Little Compton over all others. Newport Storm brewery was a good time as well, very generous pours at both of the two mention above. Thames Street in Newport is a must do, even if you do not shop. Nice area to walk around and enjoy the brick streets and old style lamp posts. Driving up and down the coast brings you to many beautiful areas and interesting places. Wow, we did a lot in one week with a baby and a dog. Oh and the bed in the first floor bedroom is awesome, like sleeping on a cotton ball. Overall, very happy with the house and the rent is fairly priced.
