Our secluded apartment sits beachside on Pools Beach, one of the most unique and beautiful beaches in Rincon. It is fully furnished with a full kitchen, air conditioning, cable tv, private balconies with patio seating and gated parking. The bedroom has a queen-size bed and there is a full-size foldout in the living area, comfortably sleeping up to 4 people. There are 2 bathrooms with showers in each. Ocean breezes, beautiful sunsets and private steps to Pools Beach.
Pools Beach: Pools Beach is unique in that during the high surf months (Nov-April) the surfing is great, but there are also small wading 'pools' for non-surfers. It is also one of the least-crowded beaches due to a lack of parking and sits next to the Domes trail which leads to some 'secret' spots.
Hi Mary Lee,
This is just a note to say how much we enjoyed our stay at Pools Beach. The view from the balcony was just amazing...so amazing we often had trouble leaving our apartment! The location was the perfect mix of being close to the beach, remote, and yet close to many conveniences like good food and restaurants! Thanks for the great hospitality.
We hope to be back soon!
PS here's my fav picture from the balcony because it captures our morning routine:
This was our first trip to PR and the Whale watcher apartment on pools beach made the whole stay a wonderful experience. We wouldn't think of coming back and not staying there again. In fact, we're already talking with our family about going back and rent the whole house for the whole group. The access to the beach is like having your own private piece of paradise with nice people dropping by now and then ;-) The short walk to Sandy beach for surf (didn't feel quite up to surfing the reef in front of the house) was also a great bonus. Everything you may need is a short drive away. This was an awesome way to experience Rincon lifestyle. I hope my review won't contribute to the house being already booked when we inquire again, but I just can't bring myself to not recommending it to anyone wanting to vacation there and have a great time.
We have stayed in a couple of different apartments and houses in the Rincon and Isabela areas. The Apartments at Pools, especially the Whale Watcher, is ideal. Not fancy but not too funky. Two, count them two full baths. Fully stocked large kitchen. A/C in the quiet bedroom. Semi-private (only two apartments in the building), incredible views, immediate access to the sweetest Rincon beach, and if you're a surfer, when it breaks well, an awesome mostly right wave for the intermediate to advanced shredder. Walkable to a bunch of funky restaurants and bars (if that's your thing), but not in the heat of any overwhelming night action (though there was one night of live music at the place across the street that was a bit annoying, but w/ earplugs in the bedroom you could barely hear it)Totally reasonably priced. We plan on returning!
We loved our stay! We stayed in the Whale Watcher. The house is beautiful, and we loved being right on the beach! We enjoyed all the amenities of the house and felt like we lived there. There was a small problem with the electricity but it was resolved the next day. The property manager was wonderful, he gave us a ton of helpful information and was very welcoming. Guests may want to pay attention where the shower head is pointed in the small shower stall, so as not to flood the place :) We would definitely love to come back (maybe a family reunion)!
This was my third time in Rincon and the first time with my wife and daughter.
The property has an amazing view onto Pools beach and a great private access to it. It is also gated on the dead end street which makes it a breeze to walk to Sandy beach, which is about 5 houses down the road.
The property is relatively comfortable and well appointed. Kitches has all the appliances needed and has ample cups, plates, and utensils. Cooking pots are plentiful, though there were no teflon ones (difficult to make eggs on reg. metal pots :)
Internet speed is very good considering where you are. TV has many channels though we never used it as we were always on the beach or just relaxing on the terrace.
The property is clean and the grounds are maintained. It has an automatic generator and 2 built-in bbq's which were a nice touch.
Parking was ample though you have to be careful exiting the property as it is difficult to see who is coming. Since the wife had to open the gate each time, she directed me whether I could proceed or not.
Overall we had a great time and the apartment along with its location and amenities made it even better
Definitely a come back and being ON the beach is a HUGE plus.
The perfect get away from it all vacation. Pools Beach is a surfer's dream. The apartment was very clean and as described. It was a holiday week and the beach was uncrowded. We will definitely return.
My boyfriend & I booked this beautiful 1 bedroom apartment last minute for his birthday & it was awesome! We were given the Whale Watcher apt which was beautiful, Very clean, right on the beautiful beach & a 2 minute walk to all of the great bars & restaurants Rincon has to offer, Tamboo, Pools Sushi, Ode to the Elephants, Casa Verde etc..The grounds are gorgeous, there is a grill out back for some late nite grub & everything else you would need is provided for you inside. There is also a kick ass generator as Rincon is prone to power outages, but we never lost power as some other ppl that we met among our travels did that stayed elsewhere. I highly recommend staying here as a couple!!!
We loved it there & hope to return in the near future. The property managers Elier & Jennifer are awesome, very helpful as well as the owner Jim.
Thanks guys! We loved everything! Hope to see you again soon :)
Our apartment is located ON the beach, the Homeaway map function doesn't recognize our street address, like many in Puerto Rico.
Located on the west coast of Puerto Rico, the coastal town of Rincon hosts many entertaining activities such as surfing competitions, marathons, triathlons and music festivals. Rincon's El Faro lighthouse, which is one of the only two observation parks for whale watching in the whole world, offers a stunning view of the ocean.
You can take spectacular trips to nearby areas that include rain forests, coffee plantations, the Rio Camuy Cave Park, the wonderful Phosphorescent Bay, Cabo Rojo's salt flats and Arecibo's enormous radio telescope. Our visitors can enjoy golfing just 25 minutes away in Aguadilla and gamble 20 minutes away in Mayaguez.
