We moved to Seattle in 2010 and bought Itineras because we love water, exploration and the warm character of classic wooden motor yachts. We lived aboard for three years as we worked on her refurbishment and cruised Puget Sound in our odyssey of discovery. Situated comfortably in her Seattle moorage, we're now pleased to offer Itineras to overnight guests in her moorage (not for charter) who embrace an appreciation for a unique, classic ambiance on water. We know you'll love the experience!
Itineras is a 1964 50' 32-ton Chris-Craft Constellation classic motor yacht. She's self-contained and is essentially a 500 sq ft two-bedroom, two-bathroom, living room, kitchen, relaxing deck, hotel suite on the water - with kayaks and oodles of classic nautical character. It's all there, just on a smaller scale.
Itineras is moored under cover at a phenomenal location on the fresh water side of the Ballard Locks next to downtown Seattle on Lake Union. Guests have full access to the vessel except the engine room and certain storage compartments. Amenities include:
Forward head (bathroom) with sink and toilet
Aft head with sink and shower
120v power throughout
Running hot and cold water
Small kitchen with electric oven, stove, sink, fridge and microwave
Comfortable sectional seating in the salon
Large flat screen tv, DVD player, streaming netflix and cable via DISH
Onboard WIFI with a house PC (you can also bring your laptop, we'll provide the passcode)
Small desk areas in the pilot house and master stateroom
Wardrobe storage (hanging and drawers)
Comfortable full size bed in master stateroom
Twin beds in guest stateroom
Relaxing aft deck
Towels and linens
Plates, cups, glassware and silverware
Also available in the marina is a laundry room and two bathrooms with showers. A convenience store/deli is located just above the marina.
We're delighted to have as much interaction as you wish but generally offer an initial orientation about the boat, the marina and area, then leave you to enjoy your stay. At all times we're a phone call, text or email away.
Fremont, Ballard, Capital Hill, Queen Anne, Magnolia and everything downtown and on the waterfront is essentially in your back yard. And, of course, dynamic Lake Union. Two kayaks are available for your use to relax and explore amazing sights and sounds.
Public transit route #40 runs in front of the marina. Taxi, Uber, Light Rail and AmTrack are also available. Kenmore Air, the area's fleet of float planes shuttling passengers around the region, is headquartered on Lake Union just blocks from the Itineras.
Rate is based on one or two adults. There is a 2-night minimum stay. We both work full time and live outside of Seattle but will need to orient you with the boat and marina if this is your first stay onboard. Subsequently, Check-In time Mon-Fri is 6pm-7pm, or by arrangement on weekends. If you've stayed onboard before, our orientation isn't necessary and Check-In time can be arranged earlier. Check-Out time is by 11am.
There is no smoking, no children (under 18) and no pets allowed onboard or in the marina. Sorry, no exceptions.

Steven and I met online in 2005. I lived in Spokane, he lived across the state in Bellingham. After six months of flying back and forth to 'date', Steven sold his home and transferred with his employer to be with me in Spokane. We're having an amazing life journey together, including having published a newspaper, a newsmagazine, gutting and restoring a Victorian mansion - then running it as a B&B, and finally moving to Seattle in 2010.
But most of all, we love exploring.
We bought Itineras because we love water, history and the warm character of wooden motor yachts. This classy old dame just sang to us. She was our home for three years while we refurbished and cruised her around Puget Sound and Seattle's interior waterways in our odyssey of discovery.
Steven and I were married on her bow July 2013 while anchored peacefully in the middle of Liberty Bay.
We're pleased to share Itineras with guests who embrace an appreciation for a unique classic ambiance on water. We know you'll love the experience.
