The property is located on a quiet drive, secluded from noisy roads and traffic. Traverse City's Silver Lake with crystal blue water is an all sports, low traffic lake. This spring fed lake makes it perfect for swimming, boating, and fishing. The cottage's sandy beach is just a step across Lake Drive on the lake's east side, which offers great sunsets making it perfect for a day of swimming, beach fun, and evening sunset marshmallow roasting. It also has a second beach in a park setting with swim raft. The nearby boat launch makes it easy to bring along your own personal watercraft.

Lovely House on Silver Lake!

We loved this property so much that I've aleady recommended it to a friend. The main level was a perfect size for my husband, myself, and my ten year old daughter. In the future I may rent the upstairs suite for my mom. We love to take day trips from Taverse City, so this as in a great location for us. The place was super clean with classy updated amenities, even includes two fireplaces and three tv's, and fast WIFI. We did't get a chance to utilize the outdoor firepit, gas barbeque, or two kayacks due to the weather. Would love to enjoy these on our next visit. Complimentary wine, wood, and specialty coffee were there to welcome us. We had a wonderful time in this home away from home!

Cozy house

My husband and I spent a week at this vacation rental. It was a cute and cozy house. The house was very clean and well maintained. Communication was excellent before the trip and during. It was wonderful to have a kitchen to prepare meals in, which was an effective way to save money on food during the week. The bedroom was a good size and the fireplace in the bedroom was amazing. The week we were in Traverse City, the weather was cold and rainy. The house was chilly our first night there and the fireplace warmed the bedroom up quickly. The lake was just across the street and was very pretty. My husband attempted to kayak, but the lake was very choppy, so he did not stay in the water long.
The location was great. It was right outside of Traverse City, so it was quiet and peaceful. The trip into town was quick and everything was easy to access. Sleeping Bear Dunes were just 40 minutes from the house, making for a nice scenic drive. Sleeping Bear Dunes is a must see when you travel to Traverse City. The scenic views along the drive there and then the dunes itself are amazing. The house is also close to Moomers, a local ice cream shop. There ice cream was delicious and is voted one of the best in the nation.
I would recommend this house to friends and relatives. There was a lot of space, so it was big for just the two of us. We only had the downstairs portion of the rental and could have easily had another couple stay in the other bedroom. With the upstairs portion, I am sure there would be plenty of room for several families to vacation together.

This place was great. It was only 15 minutes away from Traverse City. The place was also pretty cheap compared to other places we were looking at. One thing though, the communication could have been a bit better.

A getaway

The cottage was cute and located in a nice place. The layout was perfect for two different families.

The cottage may have not been used before we arrived because there were things left in drawers and trash left from previous guests. The cottage was not fully dusted or swept to our satisfaction. The water was hard and it bothered some of the guests.

However, I have been communicating with the owner and he was helpful on questions I had asked him about the place.

I would recommend this cute little place and you would be pleasantly surprised on how comfortable this place is. If you are a casual traveler, its for you. If you are fussy, stay at a more expensive place. I won't mind coming back myself.
Owner's Response: We do very much appreciate positive review and because we on not near the Silver Lake Guest House we, as owners, do need to know about and negative issues as well....

However, we do ask to be informed immediately, instead of after the our guests' have departed, in order to have an opportunity address any issues promptly.... .

We ask our guest to first contact the house manage, and us as well, in order to to convey details to housekeeping who will resolve issues which may occur from time to time.....

We do aim to provide detailed housekeeping and keep the water system maintained.....
