Imagine spending your vacation in your very own beach cottage directly on beautiful the northern shore of Big Platte Lake. The cottage was completely remodeled in 2004 and can accommodate 6 guests. You'll have you own private deck literally steps from the lake itself and its sandy shoreline! You'll have access to the dock for hanging out, sunbathing, watching the sunset, whatever!

The Platte Lake Beach Cottage is located just 3 miles from the extraordinary Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore where you can enjoy hiking, biking, and the wonderful expanse of Lake Michigan. Take a kayak and float the length of our lake all the way down to Lake Michigan via the Platte River. Experience the thrill of native Bald Eagles and other wildlife outside your door. Fish for bass Bass, walleye and Salmon on the lake.

The cottage has 4 beds (queen, full, and 2 twin bunks), a full kitchen with refrigerator, stove, oven, microwave, coffee maker, toaster, pots & pans, dishes, flatware and all the cooking utensils you'll need. You'll also be able to cook on the provided charcoal grill. Picnic table, deckchairs and lounger are provided.

Crystal Mountain Resort is just 15 miles away where you can experience the finest cross country and downhill skiing Northern Michigan has to offer. The also have an extraordinary spa in which to relax.

Traverse City is 25 miles away where you can experience excellent shopping and dining. In July, the Cherry Festival is in full swing, complete with an Air Show!

My husband and I rented this property with our 3 children (ages 14, 10 and 3). It was a wonderful time! The property was clean and updated. There is a small beach area that the kids made great use of. The lake was clean with a sandy bottom. Close to many conveniences. The owners were helpful and very cooperative with our questions. There were also many friendly people in the area! I would recommend this cottage to anyone looking to get away for some quality time.
Recommended for:  Age 55+, Adventure Seekers, Girls Getaway, Sightseeing, Families with Teenagers, Families with Young Children

I would recommend this property to a family of four with small children for sure. The small sandy beach was perfect for our kids. They had a wonderful time. The cabin is clean and accurately reflects the rental's photographs. The lake was warm, sand bottom, and never busy. The area is shared with other units but the neighbors were very nice to us. Recommend going to Benzie for groceries…much less expensive than in Honor. Easy to get to Traverse and Frankfort. Beautiful area. Rental owners were helpful and very timely with information. Our only problem was parking our boat, parking a 19ft trailer across the street was not a good option, but the neighbors helped us work it out.
Recommended for:  Sightseeing, Families with Young Children
