This is an extraordinary property located on the lake (lakefront) with exceptional opportunities for fishing, boating, wildlife viewing and many other activities! Our extended family has been vacationing in the area for generations and we've always loved it.
The place is very small and not private location at all. Location was nice. The lake is nice, however, the yard was not clean. There was goose/dog feces everywhere and made it difficult to enjoy the beach of the cottage. You rent a place up North on the lake to spend time enjoying the lake. With the feces time spent outside was not enjoyable. I would not rent again.
This was our first time to the area and really didn't know what to expect. You should have seen the list of different properties I considered for our family. Ultimately, this location seemed the most appropriate for the price. We LOVED the house, loved the location, he dock and swimming in the lake right out the front door was amazing. We also rode our bikes to the Lake Michigan beach just 5 miles away. Not the fault of the owners, but the weather was unseasonably cold. We longed for some heavier blankets. We made due. We did have a small incident with an uncooperative smoke alarm that kept going off in the middle of the night. But we figured it out the next day with the handle of the broom. One other comment would be that we couldn't find a dust pan anywhere which made it tough to keep he floors (which are beautiful) well swept. There was a rowboat/canoe on the premises, but it wasn't clear if that was available for our use. We hope to return next year. Thanks for sharing your lovely home!!!!
This cottage was perfect for our family of four (high school kids). It was very clean. Really a nice location for fishing and not far from great shopping/exploring. We would recommend this property to a friend or relative.
My husband and I rented this property with our 3 children (ages 14, 10 and 3). It was a wonderful time! The property was clean and updated. There is a small beach area that the kids made great use of. The lake was clean with a sandy bottom. Close to many conveniences. The owners were helpful and very cooperative with our questions. There were also many friendly people in the area! I would recommend this cottage to anyone looking to get away for some quality time.
I would recommend this property to a family of four with small children for sure. The small sandy beach was perfect for our kids. They had a wonderful time. The cabin is clean and accurately reflects the rental's photographs. The lake was warm, sand bottom, and never busy. The area is shared with other units but the neighbors were very nice to us. Recommend going to Benzie for groceries…much less expensive than in Honor. Easy to get to Traverse and Frankfort. Beautiful area. Rental owners were helpful and very timely with information. Our only problem was parking our boat, parking a 19ft trailer across the street was not a good option, but the neighbors helped us work it out.
