The Navigators Nook, Overlooking The Pacific, Con Con, Chile.

We stayed at some other nice places in Argentina on our trip, but our stay at the Navigators Nook in Con con Chile was the highlight of our trip. We hope to stay there again someday, and would definitely recommend it to anyone.

We arrived late at night, and the owner had arranged for his property manager to pick up up from the airport for a reasonable fee. We speak almost no spanish and the property manager speaks almost no english but he and his wife still did a great job of explaining the area to us and giving us recommendations. The apartment has incredible views from both floors, and when you open the sliding doors even a crack you can hear the waves crashing below, which was very relaxing. Our bed was very comfortable, and the kitchen was stocked with any pots, pans, plates, appliances etc. you might need. The wifi worked great, and we didn't try the TV. The balconies are very private. A Hairdryer and iron were provided. The location is perfect... Just a couple minutes walk down to hill to the beach strip, which has a bank, some produce stores, restaurants, an ice cream shop, and some surf schools. From there you can catch a bus that goes south along the ocean and will let you off at any beach, or anywhere else for that matter, between Con con and Vina del Mar. It only costs about 75 cents US (but you pay in pesos). Renaca is the next major town south and had a very nice beach. If you want to go to Valparaiso I think you can switch buses in Vina del Mar, but we switched to the subway there instead. Just as there as buses that follow the water, there are buses that use an inland route between Con con and Renaca that you can catch a block uphill (east) from the apartment, and it will take you to the Santa Isabel larger supermarket in Con con. Secreto restaurant is a very short walk away and was our favourite, but Amor y Sazon was also very good and is even closer.

The only thing they might be able to improve is the consistency of the hot water. There were 2 occasions where it got hot, and then ran cold for several minutes before getting hot again. It's not so bad it your expecting it and know that it will definitely get hot again, so just be patient. It definitely wasn't enough to put us off staying there again.
