The owner, Angela grew up in Central Illinois on a farm. The Rustic Treehouse walls are decorated with many of the antiques from her families farm and her Grandparent's farm. One wall and the kitchen island wall are covered in old barn wood out of a barn in Illinois. The Family Barn was destroyed by a tornado in 1984 and the door hanging on the wall is from that barn along with the chicken house window. The chicken coup hanging over the kitchen doorway is also from the family chicken house where many an eggs were collected. These are just a few of the special touches added to the house by Angela who treasures her families heritage.
We bought The Rustic Treehouse as an investment. However we found ourselves going there every weekend to do repair so we could turn it around quickly. We found ourselves napping and really relaxing once we saw the deck and trees that surround the house. We would get our projects/repairs completed and we felt like we had been on a long relaxing weekend and ready to go back to work on Monday. We've had the house 10 years and we still enjoy it today, just without all the projects.
We fell in love with the large deck on the back of the house and the trees that surround it! There's nothing like having dinner on the deck and hearing the birds sing, seeing the trees sway and hearing the boats go by. Even when it rains we love to take naps on the leather sofa's upstairs with a good movie playing (even though we may not be watching it). The house has a relaxing, cozy feel that makes you want to stay and enjoy the great outdoors!
