Point Venture Townhome Rental Photos and Description
Townhome, 2 Bedrooms + Convertible bed(s), 2 Baths, (Sleeps 8-9)
Just 20 miles northwest of Austin, in the Heart of the Texas Hill Country, this 1450 square foot lakefront townhouse in Point Venture offers beautiful views of Lake Travis. We are on a quiet and peaceful cove, so you can spend the day on the water, at the house overlooking the lake, or both! While Point Venture is a quiet and laid back community, there are still plenty of activities to keep you busy…golf, tennis, hiking, swimming, and of course boating! We also have a 50 acre waterfront park which offers picnic tables (shaded), playground for the kids, and swimming in the lake (grass & sand at the water’s edge). When the lake levels are low, we have an added bonus of a huge sandy beach! For a change of pace, we have a great big pool (Jr Olympic) (Closed on Mondays for cleaning), and it’s hardly ever crowded! Swim or lounge on the pool chairs (in the sun or under the pavilion for some shade), it’s your choice!
The kitchen has been completely remodeled with stainless steel appliances and granite countertops. It is fully equipped and the gas grill is waiting for you to cook up your favorite meal! Enjoy your dinner out on the deck – the evening weather can be surprisingly pleasant and you just might see some deer wander through the area on their way down to the lake for their evening ritual. Of course, if it’s still too hot or if you’re ready for some air conditioning, your dinner will taste just as good inside!
If cooking dinner isn’t your idea of the best way to spend your vacation, then be sure to try out the Gnarly Gar! They are located on the water (a floating restaurant), at the Point Venture Marina. When the lake levels are low, you’ll work up an appetite on the walk down to the restaurant. It’s worth the walk though, the food is good and the atmosphere is fun! Be sure to save your food scraps to toss into the water and watch the huge catfish and carp gobble them up!! It’s amazing and pure entertainment for old and young alike! And, if you’re ready for more…they have live music on the weekends (around 8:30 pm).
After a full day of activity, are you ready to relax? You can watch TV, read a book, spend time talking with your friends… or just by sitting on the deck enjoying the views with the peace and quiet of the evening surrounding you.
Our townhome is homey, comfortable, and the perfect place to get away for a long weekend or a vacation on the lake. It doesn't matter whether your group consists of a couple or you bring family and friends... we can sleep 8-9 comfortably. We have two levels with a bedroom and bathroom on each level. The master bedroom has a King-sized bed and the second bedroom has 2 Double beds. In the living area there are 2 sofas, one is a queen-sized sleeper.
For your comfort, we have provided ceiling fans and TVs with Directv in each of the bedrooms and the living area. There is a DVR and a DVD player in the living area. The woodburning fireplace is a welcome attraction during the cold, winter months.
We have been renovating over the years so the house is very inviting and comfortable…you’ll feel at home, so come and stay a while!

About Robert or Cheryl
We are both native Texans and grew up in the same area of Houston. With our respective families, we spent our childhood vacationing on Lake Travis and the surrounding Hill Country area. It was fate when we met and married 30 years ago. We settled in the suburbs (1960 & Champions area) and raised our 5 kids there. We also continued the tradition of camping, boating, skiing, swimming, and playing in the lake... all the while dreaming of one day living here instead of just vacationing in this beautiful area!
Robert or Cheryl purchased this townhome in 1999
Why Robert or Cheryl chose Point Venture
In 1999 we decided to make part of our dream come true… we started looking at places on Lake Travis. We looked at many areas and just knew Point Venture was perfect for us as soon as we drove through it. The peaceful beauty of this little village was where we wanted to live for the rest of our lives! It was too soon to move permanently, so we found our townhouse and started renovations. Our plan was to fix it up, enjoy it as much as we could, share it with others when we couldn't, sell it to build our dream house, and move here. It was a great plan... except, with every visit, we never wanted to leave!! Fate stepped in again, and we built our house and moved here in 2003. We also couldn't bear to sell the townhouse... we had enjoyed it so much and had great memories there. Plus, we had put so much of ourselves into the house, so we decided to keep it and continue sharing it with others. It's one of the best decisions we've ever made!!
What makes this townhome unique
We hope you will enjoy sitting on the deck and watching the deer, walking along the water admiring the fall colors, the coziness of a fire in the winter, or even just hearing the boats on the water in the summertime! These are some of our best memories! We would love to share our home with you… so plan your next vacation here and you can start making some of your best memories!
Think of Comanche Place as your second home… come often and bring your friends! We feel confident you’ll enjoy it here as much as we do!!
