Thank you, thank you, thank you, Lucy!!!! Your condo was PERFECT! I read some poor reviews of Malibu Pointe and was slightly worried but from the moment we arrived we were happy. Parking is a little tight but there were always some empty spaces (remember it was 4th of July week!). No check in lines, just go up, and get the key from the lock. We had a little difficulty (operator error - heehee) but once we figured it out there were no problems for the rest of the week. It's a great idea. When I opened the door, I said "Oh my gosh, this is PERFECT!"
There is PLENTY of room in each bedroom, bathroom and the main living space (my husband, myself, sister-in-law, her teen daughter, and our 3 boys ages 7, 10, and 12). We had the boys sit on the carpet to watch TV so the adults could sit in chairs. The bar area was perfect for them to eat meals and the kitchen was great. We purchased and left a couple items, however, you'll need to bring a corkscrew & tupperware. There are a few plastic kids' cups, plates and bowls. With the tile floor, I just didn't trust our boys. Lucy even has a crockpot, rice steamer and Campbell's soup receipe box (and yes, I did use some). :D
The balcony is HUGE (lots of chairs and a table too) and the view of the beach is GREAT! We could leave our umbrellas, chairs, beach gear on the beach and watch them. We would set up around 7am but not go down till 9 or so then leave everything there until evening. The beach area, in front of San A Bel and Malibu Pointe, has drains running out into the ocean. They didn't get in our way but I guess that was a deterant for other families. Our section was so peaceful, friendly and not as crowded (3-4 umbrealla/tent rows to the left and right of us). We all enjoyed the pool, lazy river, and hot tub as well. They were great for evening fun and when we needed a day's break from the beach. Lucy's storage closet has LOTS of fun treasures! No need to bring sand toys. There were at least 3 boogie boards, a wave scimmer, 2 umbrella poles that screw into the sand, and 2 umbrellas (I think - we brought 2 with us) and 3 (I think) beach chairs. Regardless, there is a store right beside the complex for your beachy needs.
There are only 2 elevators so keep your patience...you're on vacation. :D Only complaint: The elevators/waiting areas smell like hot, fishy, salt water.
*My favorite part was the jacuzzi tub and HUGE master bathroom! Don't forget some bubble bath!
I thoroughly recommend #803!
