Yamhill Studio Rental Photos and Description

A secluded master suite with large bathroom, kitchenette and patio with a view!

You will truly retreat from the world in this well appointed Suite. This rental is ideal for couples or individuals who want to get away from it all. Here you can relax, drink fine wines, dine in fantastic eateries, hike, nap, and enjoy every moment when visiting this memory-making retreat!

The Suite Retreat is located in the countryside of the Yamhill-Carlton AVA on a gorgeous 20 acres in which you are able to roam. Unlike other rentals - this suite is nestled at the top of a hill, under a custom log home. The space is completely separate, so to experience seclusion in this rural oasis.

The master bedroom offers an extremely comfortable queen bed, lots of natural lighting, blackout shades when you want to sleep in, and a flat screen TV with DVD player. There is a cozy sitting area with love seat and chair. The large windows allow you to enjoy the beautiful views indoors. We also have a small movie and book collection to be enjoyed. The large bathroom comes with tiled walk-in shower. The suite is equipped with a kitchenette which has all of the essentials and more.

Going outdoors, there is a large patio to relax on and intake the views. There are many different seating options as well. Grill up a tasty meal on your private BBQ and wind-down the evenings by the fire-pit. Snuggle up in the hammock while soaking in the beauty all around you. Our primary views from the Suite Retreat are mountain and forest, as the property is very secluded from the public eye.

Enjoy off-street parking near the entrance of the suite. Internet is also available throughout the space. Please enjoy the privacy of the property and feel free to explore woods. Also, on the edge of the property there is a large covered arena with horses. Let me know if you're interested in scheduling a riding or roping lesson!

Nearby there is also Hagg Lake, which is a wonderful lake with boating, fishing, swimming, and additional outdoor activities - including a beautiful scenic drive. Conveniently located on Highway 47; there are over 20 plus wineries along this scenic route for you to enjoy, plus eateries, and intriguing activities. You will also be a quick drive to Highway 26 which gives you awesome access to get to the Oregon Coast or Portland for a day trip!

I understand that every guests' stay is unique. Some will know the valley like the back of their hand, while others are visiting for the first time. Being a native to the valley, I am very familiar with the surrounding area. My experience as the Concierge at a local resort prepared me to advise and set you your winery tours, dinner reservations, transportation, etc. I would love to help make your stay as memorable as possible. Are you going to be celebrating a special occasion? Let me know! Would you like your favorite bottle of wine awaiting your arrival or maybe a delicious treat? Let me know! :)

The Wine Country Suite Retreat is operated by Lifestyle Properties, a local luxury vacation rental management company.

About Megan Carda & Anna Hatcher

We are not the owners of the home, but the vacation rental managers.

We are a local destination management company based in Newberg. We are here to offer genuine, exceptional service to our guests looking for the perfect place to stay when visiting wine country. While also assisting property owners with the responsibilities of caring for their guests and homes.

Why Megan Carda & Anna Hatcher chose Yamhill

The owners were referred to us by a mutual local friend. When we visited The Suite Retreat for the first time we knew right then we wanted it to be apart of our collection! We knew this secluded location with so much charm and personality was going to be a big hit for travelers looking for the absolute best location to get-away from it all while enjoying each other.

What makes this studio unique

I think a great unique benefit of this property is that it is so secluded. You really get to be in such a unique spot. However, my favorite benefit of this home is its ideal location when it comes to access. Highway 47 is an gorgeous scenic route which leads you to many wineries. But it also connects so easily to Highway 26 that you will be able to visit Portland or the Oregon Coast for a quick day trip.

Guestbook comments from the manager

Although we did not have an opportunity to meet, Megan was easily accessible by both phone and email when we needed extras, like a broom to clean up a broken wine glass. We especially loved the thoughtful treats and fresh cream for coffee that got our stay started right. We found the Retreat to be secluded, quiet and comfortable. It is also conveniently located to both the coast and Portland in a beautiful rural setting with interesting attractions nearby to explore. Prospective guests should note, however, that the suite does not contain a stove, although it does have a hotplate and a barbecue outside.

Intimate getaway!

  • 5 of 5

Cute, quiet and secluded little place. Everything was very clean. Perfect location if you're visiting wineries around Yamhill and Carlton. They provided coffee, tea, sugar, and fresh cream in fridge. Upon arrival, host left a sweet welcome card and a couple delicious chocolate/coconut treats! The owner lives upstairs in main house, she was really nice, and especially loved meeting her cat, 3 of her 4 dogs, and the goat! It was private and quiet. We look forward to staying there again!

Wedding Weekend

  • 5 of 5

This was a wonderful place for my husband and me to rest and refresh ourselves during the hustle and bustle surrounding our daughter's nearby wedding at a private home. We only regret having virtually no time to really explore the immediate area, say hello to the goats, walk in the woods, use the BBQ or sit outside in the evenings by a fire and listen to the crickets with a glass of wine... much less do any exploring of the larger area and wineries.

What we did enjoy was a luxurious, restful suite with everything we needed, and more. We were greeted with a sweet note and breakfast cookies, though for me the real treat was in the fridge. We had planned to bring groceries and prepare some meals, but were never there to eat, as it turned out. Still, I MUST have my coffee ASAP in the morning, so was happy to find a jar in the cupboard.. but expected to tough it out and drink it black. The cute jar of fresh cream in the fridge was a complete and utter surprise. Perfect!

As for the general area, as this was a very warm summer wedding week, we needed lots of ice, so stopped a couple of times in Gaston to pick it up. We were impressed by the small town friendliness, not only in the Gaston Market, but outside as well. Every car -yes, every single vehicle- traveling along Highway 47 stopped to let us cross the street as we shuffled back and forth, carrying bags of ice to our car. Small town hospitality at its best.

I think the only thing we would suggest has already been mentioned. Even after several trips to the location, it was difficult for us to see in advance when we were arriving at the driveway (at least from the east). So, by the time we saw the "Horse Boarding" sign, it was a little late to signal to the car behind that we needed to make a sudden, sharp turn up a gravel drive. I'm not sure what can be done there, but if there is an option for more signs, that would be great.

We would definitely love to return for more relaxing stay, and check out the wineries.

Relaxing Getaway

  • 4 of 5

On our way to the Suite Retreat-

Coming from Seattle, we chose to drive down the Coastal Highway and stop off at Cannon Beach for a few photos and beach time. Cute town with cafes and shops along the main road. Our next stop was Tillamook Cheese, where we enjoyed cheese samples and delicious ice cream!

Arriving at the Suite Retreat-

The turn off was a little confusing...maybe add a sign near the main road so that guests know its the correct turn off. Beautiful house and peaceful scenary. The dogs are extremely friendly and welcoming...the goose on the other hand was a little territorial.

Activities we enjoyed-

We enjoyed a nice drive and walk near Hagg Lake. Beautiful and scenic. Spotted some elk and deer along the way. Nice place to bring a lunch and enjoy the water.

Wine tastings- You could spend months in this area and not get to all of the vineyards! We stopped off at four of them...the hosts were knowledgeable and friendly.

We stopped off at Zippys Pizza for dinner - good pizza and fun atmosphere.

Other - there is not a stove or oven, so it made it difficult to cook (although there is a grill). We visited the Safeway in McMinnville and picked up salads and snacks. The Suite is very clean and comfortable.

We look forward to a visit in the future! Thanks for sharing!

Owner's Response: Great inclusion of all the good things around the area - thank you! There is much to do and you're right about the wineries - abundant! - For the future Gabby the goose will stay locked inside the Goat-tel so she can be enjoyed from behind wire! Thanks for sharing your experiences to help others coming this way! Blessings, Shawna

A jewel!

Wonderfully private getaway. Clean, well presented (the lights were on when we arrived at night showing a soft glow in the bedroom). Nice welcome note and a treat of goat cheese and crackers. Very clean, everything we needed - except mor days to stay there. We'll likely be back when we get the time. Owners were very helpful with excellent recommendations for activities and restaurants. We recommend the horseback wine tours at Jake Price stables. Excellent and fun! A beautiful experience all the way around.

Much needed, peaceful break from the city

  • 5 of 5

Wonderful and completely fulfilling weekend at this special suite retreat. My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our time away from our hectic life in Portland. Though only an hour away, the serenity and peaceful atmosphere gave both of us a much needed respite, and I know we will be booking another get-a-way soon. Close to many wineries and restaurants, and the hosts are eager to please and are very welcoming. The goat is so cute!!
