About The Owner

This is our best self-portrait ever! We were out traipsing thru the Colorado countryside and found the perfect spot to capture the fun we were having. We are native Texans but we truly enjoy Colorado.

The Owner purchased this cabin in 2004

Why The Owner chose Pagosa Springs

The Lazy Bear is centrally located between our Texas and California relatives - it's been our family cabin for over ten years and we've had a ton of fun. We believe that you will love it as much as we do - the Lazy Bear is a very comfortable place to be.

What makes this cabin unique

You will find that all seasons offer something special at the cabin. Whether you are skiing, golfing, fishing, hiking, sightseeing, or just soaking in the mineral springs there're always wonderful memories to be created. Don't miss the zillion stars you can see while enjoying the firepit at night!

Lazy Bear is the Bomb!

  • 5 of 5
What a wonderful trip! The Lazy Bear was everything you could ever want. The owners have more comforts in this home than you could imagine. It really made us feel at home. The warm cozy robes were great to have every morning while sitting on the deck for morning coffee, looking at the San Juan river and enjoying the scenic views. The town is a gem, great restaurants and nice shops. We did so much - hot air balloon ride, hiking to the falls, fishing in the river - even learned how to fly fish! We took a train ride from Silverton to Durango. Silverton's a great town. You feel like you're in a John Wayne movie. This whole trip was fantastic, from the lodging at the Lazy Bear to the scenery. Can't wait to go back! Thanks for a wonderful place to stay.

Awesome Cabin, Awesome Owners

  • 5 of 5
We stayed here in May and when we arrived it totally felt like home. This cabin has everything you need. The owners think about EVERYTHING, I mean everything. It is super well stocked. This is by far one of the best cabins we stayed at, and we hope on returning next year! The hot tub broke while we were there but other than that it was amazing. There was a storm the last day of check out and the owners called us to make sure we were safe and to let us know that we can stayed until the storm passed by.

Felt like home!

  • 5 of 5
Upon arriving for our 10 day stay,we instantly felt comfortable and at "home". There isn't one little detail missed by the owners of this home. Everything was comfortable and welcoming. We originally had a lot more on our to do list but found ourselves relaxing by the river most afternoons/evenings. We just didn't want to leave. Beds were beyond comfortable, seating downstairs was comfortable, outdoor seating was comfortable.....I think you see where I'm going with this. We had 1 small problem with the hot tub but it was fixed less than 24hrs after contacting the owners. Speaking of the owners, they are friendly and I feel they truly want you to enjoy their home. I cannot say enough good things about this place. I will definitely be looking up the Lazy Bear on our next trip to Pagosa Springs. It is our new go to place!!

No room for improvement

  • 5 of 5
This is, by far, my favorite vacation home that we've ever visited and we've stayed in quite a few beautiful homes. There really wasn't one single thing I'd suggest the owner's change or anything that needs improving.

It's an incredibly well-stocked home from the kitchen to the garage. From cooking spices to fishing poles to walking sticks to comfy bathrobes. Nothing's missing. The owners even provide birdseed for birdwatching. Make sure you do - there are lots of beautiful birds in the area!

The house is well-insulated for chilly days and cold nights so you're always toasty and warm. Comfortable beds provided a great night's sleep after exploring and hiking all day. We had coffee on the deck each morning and watched the sun come up over the mountains and while listening to the river rush by.

Can't wait to visit again. We really didn't want to leave!

I didn't want to go home...

I didn't want to go home...

Being from East Tennessee and having rented many cabins in Gatlinburg TN I was really shocked at all this cabin offered. Never before have I had so much offered to us during our stay. We had movies, tons of area information, ROBES, yes, ROBES - 2 in every closet to match the decor of the bedroom. I loved being spoiled in the high quality linens! The decor was just beautiful. The garage had sleds if it had snowed, and we did get a dusting...it had fishing poles, waders...just anything you needed this place had. I can't thank you enough for letting us share this beautiful place. It was a haul back to Denver (6 hours) considering I didn't want to leave lol. Thanks again and we hope to be back soon!
