About Owner

My husband Jeff and I have been together for 33 years now and we wouldn't change any of it. We bought the property next door to the cabin 23 years ago, paid that off and bought the cabin. We lived there for 18 years and I really do miss it. The Denver lights at night most of all. My view now in Evergreen is my neighbors house, but we do go to the cabin ourselves a few times a year. You will love the peace and tranquility that you find there. The wild life that has been known to come right up into the yard and the Denver lights off in the distance while sitting on our beautiful large deck at night. Enjoy.

A Little Piece/Peace of Heaven

WOW! The cabin is located a in a beautifully secluded area in the mountains with breathtaking views. My family and I were pleasantly surprised, the pictures don't do justice. The cabin is cozy yet spacious. The drive up the mountain was a bit daunting, but well worth it. We didn't expect all of the comforts and amenities that were readily available. Debbie was very helpful, gracious, and accommodating. Our family's stay was for my fiance's birthday as well as a mini-vacation. My fiance is a real outdoors man and loved everything about the cabin -from the location, spaciousness and decor. The cabin is quiet and the views from the deck at night is nothing short of beautiful. My fiance's family lives in Denver and came to visit us and they were simply wowed by the cabin. This get away also gave us quality time with our 15 yr. old daughter, who also loved the place. The fire place was cozy and quaint at night. The kitchen has everything you can imagine to make wonderful meals. The decks off the living room and master bedroom are perfect for coffee in the morning and cuddling at night. Brochures for activities, places of interest restaurants are at your finger tips. The washer and dryer are a plus. Guest truly have to need or want for nothing here. However, there is no Wi-fi and cell reception isn't the greatest, which makes this place ideal for getting away. This cabin in the mountains is truly a little piece of heaven. The property is clean and well maintained. I recommend this property to anyone looking to get closer to nature or just simply relax. I will definitely recommend this place to friends and family. I will definitely come back again. Our overall experience was great. My only complaint was having to leave. Thank you again, Jeff and Deb. Your cabin made our visit to Colorado unforgettable!

Thanksgiving in the Mountains

5 of 5
Submitted: November 26, 2012 Stayed: November 2012
We booked this location Weds-Sunday of the Thanksgiving break. Our youngest daughter attends college nearby & had to stay in the area over the break for athletics. The property is well represented as listed. It isn't a luxury hideaway but is a cozy place for a family getaway without worrying that you might break something, We thought the inside was nicer than we had expected (roomier). The amenities met all our basic needs. The location is secluded and there was plenty of opportunity for rest, relaxation and family time. There is a land line phone if you must reach someone or they need to reach you, which is good as the location is remote enough that cell coverage is spotty & internet isn't an option. This forced us and our 18-31 y/o daughters to actually take time off work & school and interact :-0) We enjoyed the outdoor area, the cozy fireplace & watched movies on the DVD while playing cards. There was an oven, stove, fridge & microwave that made preparing homemade meals (including Thanksgiving Dinner) an a great option. We had all the basic pots and pans needed & more importantly a coffee maker & a tea kettle to start out each morning. We don't mind washing dishes by hand so no dishwasher wasn't a biggie. 1 bathroom presented a few challenges for 4 adult women & 1 adult male but we made it work. Having a washer & dryer on hand was great too. I returned home without a ton of dirty laundry-always a blessing! We were about 40 minutes from Golden and about 20 minutes from Idaho Springs or Evergreen. The Denver Airport was just about an 60-70 minutes away. Zip Lining, hiking, rock climbing, skiing, shopping, etc were all close enough by to enjoy without being in the middle of the city. Families with active kids would LOVE this place as wondering around the pine trees, exploring the rocky areas and collecting pine cones was an adventure. We didn't use the fire pit as there was a burn ban in effect but the area looked great & was well maintained. I thought it was well worth the asking price and far better than a cramped hotel room for a family of 5! Debbie called & checked on us the day of arrival and helped us feel welcome. As a Flat-lander from TX the winding mountain road was very manageable. It was a 2 lane, paved road that was tree-lined so no white knuckle driving up the mountain. What a relief! We hope to come back & enjoy the cabin again as our daughter is only a freshman. We'd love to hang out & check out the summer activities nearby in the future

My wife and I are VERY happy we had the chance to stay at the cabin. It was the most peaceful time we have ever had together. The cabin was in perfect condition, with GREAT views, and the perfect mix of a mountain retreat and modern amenities.. Deb was very concerned with anything we might need, and made sure we knew where to reach her in the event we needed something. Which we didn't because the cabin was completely ready for us before we got there.. We can not wait to take a trip up there in the summer with our kids, though this trip was for Mom and Dad. We REALLY needed a perfect weekend alone. We got it here. I will recommend this place to anyone wanting the perfect place to relax, and enjoy the wonderful mountains that has been provided to us. Thank you Deb and Jeff, your home is the perfect mountain getaway. See you next time.

Family Get-a-way

Jeff and Cindy,

My family and I truly enjoyed our short stay in the lovely cabin. The décor was wonderful (loved the details) and there was plenty of room for everyone to relax. At night, I especially loved the view from the balcony, we were able to see the city lights twinkled in the distanced. The cabin location is perfectly nestled between two great historic towns and far enough from the huzzle and buzzle of city life. Overall, we very impressed by how it felt so much like “home-away-from-home” and wished our stay would have been longer. I would strongly recommend your cabin to friends and family. Hope to return to our new hide-away soon.
