Thanksgiving in a stunning Hamptons home

This past Thanksgiving we had the pleasure of renting this gorgeous home from Philip and Audrey-- who were incredibly gracious hosts and easy to work with. We arrived after hours of holiday traffic to be met by their house manager who came with plates of warm food from a local restaurant--and even a bag of cat food for the family pet we bought along with us! The house itself is in excellent condition-- every room and amenity is fully functioning, clean and cozy (amazing bed sheets and pillows on each bed!). The kitchen and dining room were fully stocked with pots/pans, table cloths, glasses-- you name it! When not dining, you could be relaxing in the hot tub, watching a movie in the super impressive media room or reading one of the books from their extensive and immaculate library infront of the roaring wood burning fire. Of course, this house is in the ideal Hamptons location so there is lots to do locally (we visited the nearby towns, wineries and beautiful local beach). Its particularly easy to get away in the day as this house comes with a wonderful daily housekeeper (Inez)- who was a joy to have around.
These days its hard to find a Hamptons home that feels more like a home than a rental-- and even harder-- finding someone to rent from who is trustworthy and easy to work with. We returned to NYC to realize we left a few of our things behind. Philip and Audrey tracked them all down and sent them to us the next day. Included in the package was a book from their collection that my husband was half way through reading and mentioned as wonderful in an offhand comment to Audrey. We were very touched by that kind gesture and it is just a small but significant example of the type of people you would be renting from. Hope you enjoy your rental as much as we did! We unreservedly recommend this property.
