Glenwood Springs House Rental Photos and Description

House, 3 Bedrooms + Other (See Description), 4 Baths, (Sleeps 6-9)

At the end of the rainbow we designed, built, and completed our French Country style dream house in 2010 called A and H Wildflower Ranch. We have a sunny custom kitchen with lots of counter space and an open floor plan to the main living area and dining area, 2 master bedrooms that have either a patio or balcony, an additional bedroom with attached bathroom, an office, and atrium sun room. There are doors from all rooms leading to the exterior patios and decks that surround our home.

We have an inviting and open floor plan that provides lots of sunlight. The many windows throughout our home allow you to enjoy the spectacular views of Mt. Sopris, the 31 acres of open-space which includes a pond, the Roaring Fork River, as well as the Flattops Wilderness Area north of Glenwood Springs. Not only can you enjoy the views from the interior, but you can also relax outdoors while watching and listening to wildlife, birds, the stream, or consider the night sky from decks and flagstone patios that surround our home. Inside, there are little nooks with cozy spots for relaxing with a cup of coffee or glass of wine and a good book. We have an eclectic collection of books for browsing or reading and an assortment of games. Our custom kitchen has ample room for preparing, cooking, and visiting. Due to our stone and stucco exterior, the house remains comfortably cool even in the heat of summer without a swamp cooler, although we have ceiling fans in many rooms.

We are located halfway between Glenwood Springs and Carbondale. Our neighborhood consists of acreages with most of our neighbors owning horses. This creates a peaceful country feel to our property. Our central location makes this a perfect place to stay allowing you to explore up and down the valleys, no matter your vacation preferences. There is something for everyone here in the heart of the Rockies. About The Owner

Clay is a designer and builder. Cindy is an art teacher. We love to work, play and enjoy family and friends with our dog Ernie. We spend a lot of time outdoors gardening, hiking, camping, wildlife watching, swimming, kayaking, snow shoeing, cross-country skiing, hunting and star gazing. We have thought about moving, but we love this area with the sunshine and climate too much to seriously consider going elsewhere. We prefer to invite family and friends to come and stay here instead!

Why The Owner chose Glenwood Springs

We bought this property in 2006 and designed and built our dream home on the 7 acres. We completed the building in 2010. We fell in love with this property as we walked the open-space and down to the pond and Roaring Fork River. We love the views from this end of the 7 acres. We are outdoor loving people and we have found ourselves within easy distance of a huge diversity of outdoor experiences year round. We are pass holders at the world famous Glenwood Hot Springs and know why the Utes called it Yampah or 'Big Medicine'. We like that we are approximately 10 minutes away.

We placed the house on the edge of the open-space to maximize the views and the water feature. We have a stream running down in front of the south side of the house that provides a wildlife corridor year round. We have a wide variety of birds that live and eat here. We also enjoy the many species of mammals, such as, fox, deer, elk, bobcat, chipmunk, and rabbit just to name a few, that use this corridor.

What makes this house unique

We have a fabulous view of Mt. Sopris. In addition, we have a trail that circles the whole subdivision. A section of the trail runs alongside the Roaring Fork River where you can walk, run, fish, skip rocks, enjoy watching the blue herons in their rookery, the nesting pair of ospreys, or the elk that winter along the river. There is a pond with a variety of waterfowl depending on the time of year you are here. You can walk, cross-country ski or snowshoe along the trail. In addition, we are 3 miles from the bike trail that follows the old RR tracks up and down the Roaring Fork Valley. This bike trail begins in Glenwood Springs and continues all the way to Aspen.

This is a wonderful secluded countryside home with nice views of the Roaring Fork Valley. The house easily accommodates 8 people in their own double bedroom with bath. The fully equipped kitchen and gas grill on the deck allowed us to prepare all our dinners at the house and enjoy the large dinning room and views in the evening. Cindy and Clay were very nice and we would definitely come back here again.

Quiet and Relaxing

  • 5 of 5
We traveled to the Carbondale area to visit friends who were summering in the area. We have three boys under the age of 8, and we needed a space that would give them room to roam. This home had plenty of indoor and outdoor space for all of us to enjoy. It was clean and no-corners have been cut in the construction of the home. If we were to visit the area again, we would consider this home for our stay. The owners are a terrific couple and have a great property.

July 2014 Family Vacation

  • 5 of 5
This was the perfect place for our family to stay on vacation. We were 2 adults, 2 grandparents, and 3 children (ages 9-15). We would definitely stay here again! I spent a lot of time reading reviews of various homes before we selected this home.
The house is large enough for a two families to spread out comfortably and there are 2 large and comfortable master bedrooms suites.
We spent our time rafting, horseback riding, golfing, and hiking to the Hanging Lake. The golf course is just literally right up the road from the house and our golfers really enjoyed the course and the view of the mountains while they played.
Cindy and Clay were such gracious hosts, very quick to guide us with any questions. The house had adequate supplies including towels, dishes, cooking pots/pans, even spices. I would recommend this property to anyone and plan to visit again.

Family Vacation

  • 5 of 5
Our family of seven has enjoyed staying at this home two times, now. It is a quiet, peaceful break after the hectic Christmas holidays. It is close to Sunlight Ski area and just a drive down the road from Aspen. It's a beautiful house in a beautiful setting.
It is clean, spacious, with lots of room to spread out. Nice heated floors, a big kitchen, lots of windows, and a view of Mt Sopris. I would recommend this house to everyone. It was lovely.

Beautiful Home - Great Location - Tranquil Environment - Nice Couple - MEMORABLE VACATION EXPERIENCE

  • 5 of 5
There were 9 of us who stayed at this property, ranging in age from 12-64. Our children & grandchildren had a great time! Our family members enjoyed the beauty & spaciousness of this amazing home--with its wildflowers and hummingbirds! There was plenty of room for our party of nine. We placed one young adult child in the office-where the couch made out into a bed. We also placed the 12 & 14 year old grandsons in the atrium room - where there is also a bed. The two older teens stayed in the twin bed room - complete with it's own bathroom and walk in closet. The two master bedrooms were very nice as well & were the quarters for the two adult married couples. My husband and I stayed in the downstairs master -- which was quite roomy & beautiful! I enjoyed the soaking tub so much -- what a way to relax & pamper tired, achy muscles after hiking! Clay & Cindy were both so accommodating! It is evident that they truly care about the comfort of their guests and want the guests to enjoy the beautiful home as much as they do! Our extended family enjoyed making meals together in the kitchen, cooking out on the gas grill, & sitting in the dining area as a family. The two older teens even joined in the cooking by making dinner and breakfast for everyone. This home is in a perfect location between Carbondale and Glenwood Springs! (At City Market in Carbondale & Safeway in Glenwood Springs, it only takes a couple of minutes to sign up for the food savers cards to get the best savings on food items.) There was adequate cell phone coverage at the home and the wi-fi was nice for catching up on emails & posting vacation photos. I can't say enough positive things about our experiences in this beautiful, well-designed home! I personally appreciate the fact that Cindy & Clay are environmentally conscientious & ask their guests to recycle & compost while staying at the property. Although composting was a new experience for me, it really wasn't problematic as the container was well sealed. Additionally, I felt a sense of gratitude that the flowers, shrubs, soil, etc. will benefit from our food waste. :O) While on vacation, we went hiking at Hanging Lake and Maroon Bells (both beautiful!). We also went rafting through Blue Sky Adventures (good rafting company). We went sightseeing at Crystal River, Marble, and Penny Hot Springs! We went fishing at Ruedi Reservoir and also went to Glenwood Springs to walk around, shop, & enjoy the town. Time went by too fast!
