This light, airy, newly remodeled retreat has an open living room, dining area, and kitchen with a plentitude of garden and canyon view windows. It is completely furnished with all the details of an inviting, cozy family getaway spot. Every room has large, sunny, garden view windows and many “European B&B” touches. The two bedrooms, one with a pillow top king bed and one with a trundle bed that serves as two singles or one king, have beautiful pillows and spreads, cozy comforters, and high quality bedding and linens. We also have a Pac’n Play, Bumbo, booster seat, and toys available for our rental guests with babies or toddlers.
The colorful, happy kitchen is fully equipped for cooking, dining, and entertaining with lovely dishes, table ware, bar ware, and linens. Even the gourmet cook will find the necessary appliances, cookware, bake ware, and utensils for any special meal or recipe. The pantry/laundry room has a washer and dryer, cleaning and laundry supplies, plenty of storage space, and a “beach kit” of picnic ware, beach chairs/towels/umbrellas, various sizes of coolers, boogie boards, a Frisbee, and sand toys. The pantry shelves are amply stocked with herbs, spices, oils, sugar, flour, coffee, tea, and much more for rental guests to enjoy. A gas barbeque is just outside the kitchen door in a lovely garden setting with table and chairs for outdoor dining or relaxing.
Quinn Cottage shares with the main house a spectacular deck with a large hot tub, cozy towels, its own dining table, and spectacular views of Mission Bay and the Pacific Ocean, Point Loma, and the surroundings canyons. Visitors often view soaring hawks and many other bird species from the deck’s “tree house” location. Kids enjoy using the hot tub as a pool for playtime while adults savor sitting in the hot tub with a glass of wine or cup of tea to relax and rejuvenate. Enjoying a romantic candlelight dinner on the deck as you watch the sun set over the ocean is a total escape in itself. After dark, owls can be heard softly calling to one another from the nearby canyon’s Eucalyptus trees. The solitude is delicious. To add some romance and celebration, for much of the year rental guests can view the distant sky filled with Sea World fireworks, all from a cozy deck chair or the hot tub.
Gardening is our passion and hobby, and our large gardens, a Certified Wildlife Habitat, are well-known to the neighborhood. Enchanting the visitor with many secret “rooms” to explore and delight, the garden has whimsical pieces of “exterior art” as well as numerous spots to sit with a morning cup of coffee to watch the many hummingbirds, finches, and butterflies that inhabit the lush landscape. The tranquil surroundings include year round herb, vegetable, and salad gardens as well as numerous fruit and citrus trees. Many varieties of roses and other flowers bloom during all seasons. We enjoy sharing our garden’s vegetable and floral bounty with our rental guests.

Located just above Old Town and Presidio Park, Quinn Cottage is only five to ten minutes from the airport, Little Italy, Downtown and the Gaslamp District, the famous San Diego Zoo, Balboa Park, Sea World, Petco Park, the harbor, Fashion and Mission Valley shopping centers and golf course, and many beaches. It is just two minutes from freeways 5 and 8 for quick jaunts to La Jolla, Del Mar Racetrack, Torrey Pines golf course, Legoland, Wild Animal Park, and other north county locations. The border crossing into Mexico is only twenty minutes away. As already mentioned, many places of interest are within easy walking distance. The location could not be more perfect.
