I have loved the Weeki Wachee River since I was a child and quickly became enamored with the crystal clear water and the peaceful but friendly enviornment the river provides.Enjoy the charm of old Florida in a quiet surrounding while you boat, kayak, canoe, tube, swim or just relax on the screened porch or deck.
I have always wanted a weekend home on this river which is why we purchased this property. It is a comfortable retreat for us, our family and friends, sharing our home with you allows us to continue our enjoyment of this incredible spring fed river. We take pride in providing you with a clean, efficient and enjoyable rental. Florida has over 700 spring fed rivers, this is one that you must experience.
Keywords: Enjoy time on the beautiful spring fed Weeki Wachee Rental! Great location, close to restaurants, kayak/canoe rentals, marina and Roger's State Park. Fish and swim from the dock, kayaking is easy with our steps from the dock to the canal. Outdoor deck with sink and screened porch overlooking the water.
I am actively involved in New Home Sales and Management and love escaping to the River when ever I can. I believe everyone deserves a place to get a way to, and this should be one that you would enjoy.
Linda Trautman purchased this mobile home in 2005
Neighbors are friendly, 50' dock provides plenty of room to fish and dock you boat. Steps from the dock to the canal make it easy to access from boat, canoe or kayak.
Central heat and air, interior laundry room, 2 full baths, living room is separate from bedrooms allowing privacy. An awesome restaurant within walking distance.
I have been going to Weeki Wachee for over 25 years and this rental house is a perfect location on the river. It has a deep water canal so at any tide my boat has no problem getting in or going out. The boat ramp is a 10 min ride by boat from the ramp to the house. There are many manatees that you can see almost around every bend in the river. The house itself is very comfortable and charming. This is a great place to just relax and enjoy true Florida. My family and I are so glad we were able to find this vacation spot. The only bad thing is the kids will keep bugging you about when they can they go back. Good problem to have. :-)
We travel to Florida every year to see my family for Thanksgiving. Usually it's up in Jacksonville, this year was a change of place. We found Linda to be a most accommodating hostess. Although a cold front went through and it wasn't as warm a we would have liked, we still had a great time. Listening to the fish hop in the canal was pretty funny. Almost like they were daring my husband to catch them, but to no avail! You absolutely must eat at La Bella Napoli, the restaurant in front of the house! Fabulous!!! We will be back the next time Turkey day is in the Tampa area!
We stayed last summer for a few weeks, our second time there,&loved every minute! The owner is very cooperative & works with us on our arrival & departure. We love the 50 ft dock, the outside deck &the screened porch.Accomodations inside are great also,it's so peacefull & every one is very friendly.I caught a bass from the dock but put it back for next year. The price is affordable & we will be back in 2015.
Normally I would never write a review but seeing the bad reviews I had to reply. My husband and I have been returning to Linda & Roy's place for the last three years. We have found the place clean and described exactly the way the pictures show you. The difference between the living room and dining room is a bit to catch on to but never had any problem. We have our three adult daughters and their families join us at different times while we are there and they have never had a problem with the little step either, even my little grandsons. The Italian restaurant across the street is excellent and very good service. The neighbors are great. The big busy towns are just a few miles away, though you would never know it by where you are staying. We've never had a problem with smells, molds, bad linen or anything else the other people complained about. As far as the umbrella and nails, we found the umbrella and hammer in shed and put out or nailed the pop-up nails down. If we had a question with anything we called and she answered our question right away. I would recommend this waterfront home to anyone.
We had a great stay, the river was spectacular, great to see Manitees so close to the dock behind ,accomodations were very good ,every thing was very clean ,orderly & comfortable. The neighbors are friendly, the restaurant near by had great food plus the service was excellent .We have stayed in a few places near there & this is the best so far,& you cant beat the price. WE have booked our return for next year.J&J From NY.
The location of the cottage was very good, only minutes away from Weeki Wachee State Park. We were aware that it is an older home, which is fine. We just needed a clean and comfortable place to sleep and eat that was in close proximity to the locations we wanted to visit.
The home was tidy, however when we went to bed we noticed that the bedding did not feel or smell as though it had been cleaned. The beds were not well made; with sheets that were wrinkled and did not smell like they had been washed. It was very late at night when we arrived so it was disappointing (especially with small children who were tired) to have to start doing laundry in order to feel comfortable crawling into bed.
The kitchen and washrooms were also tidy, but again it didn't look or smell like they had been really cleaned. For example, there were mugs/glasses with lipstick marks on them in the cupboards. The shower felt like there was soap scum on the walls.
We weren't looking for anything fancy, just clean.
Our dealings with the owner were very good. She replied promptly to enquiries and was very pleasant. It's possible that she isn't aware that the cleaners are not doing a thorough job when guests leave.
Although we loved the location, the level of cleanliness wasn't there for us so we wouldn't stay there again.
We arrived at about 7 pm to find the house at 83 degrees F. There were crumbs on the kitchen table, the grass needed to cut, there was black mold in the bathroom, here were nails sticking up 1-2 inches on the deck , the house in general was a health hazard. I will never use VBRO again. I tripped on the uneven doorway and fractured my shoulder, need liability insurance carrier name and contact number.
Located minutes from Weeki Wachee State Park, home of the live mermaids and Bucaneer Bay water park. Kayak from the head springs and experience pristine waterways, view manatees swimming the river, large fish, deer and birds. Fabulous areas to swim, cool off and simply embrace nature. Walking distance to Roger's State Park, a local fresh water park with boat launch, beach, pavillion, kayak and canoe rentals and the Upper Deck Waterfront Restaurant.
Pine Island is nearby, located on the Gulf of Mexico and offers a Big Dock fishing pier.
