This is our 5th visit to St Thomas and this is the best thus far. So relaxing to sip coffee watching the humming birds & cruise ships in the A M - yachts, cruise ships come and go while drinking wine at sunset. All the amenities we needed to make breakfast, dinner and pack lunches in the spacious cooler for the beach. (Loved the large rooms!!)
Food shopping - Pueblo and Gourmet Market Havensight had surprisingly reasonable prices (except Ben and Jerry's. !)
Sad to leave. Thank you Corlette for all your kindnesses; warm bread, checking in that we have all that we need.
where do i start, i visited St Thomas alone last weekend and was priviledged to have stayed at Corlette and Kenneth's studio. It was the perfect place for my trip, offered the peace, accomodation and atmosphere i needed. It is a home away from home. Corlette has been amazing, kind and was always available to answer questions and point me to the greatest spots. Cannot wait to go back..
Thank you so much
My wife and I just returned home after a week in St. Thomas where we had the pleasure of staying in this outstanding studio. It's hard to say where to start but I will tell you that Corlette and Kenneth are wonderful hosts and very attentive! The studio is exactly as it looks in the photos and sitting on the patio with our morning coffee was a great way to start our day. The bed was one of the most comfortable we have slept in and the shower is huge. The rest of our party was staying at Frenchman's which made the location of this studio perfect...... Less than 5 minutes by car. Red Hook was an easy drive as was all the shopping you wanted. Corlette suggested we try Lindquist Beach which we did and spent a very relaxing afternoon on the beach. We highly recommend Gladys' Cafe in Downtown..... Excellent food and a must for lovers of hot sauces. A car is recommended.
All-in-all we highly recommend this property and will definitely stay here again on a future trip to St. Thomas. Far more relaxing than a hotel.
We've said it before but once again.....thank you Corlette & Kenneth.
Rick & Luz....... Texas
Thus is a lovely apartment not far from the action. The facilities and equipment are all great. Nothing on St. Thomas is too far.
I quickly became expert at driving up the steep slope to the house.
Owners are attentive. I do recommend this property.
First, I must admit that I never had the chance to meet our hosts. I was there with another bridesmaid for a wedding at the Marriott at Frenchman's Reef (BTW, this condo is the best price and location if you don't want to stay at the Marriott. Just plan to rent a car. The roads have no sidewalks & it is very steep with blind corners). My roomie arrive 1st and got us settled. Between the time change and all the wedding activities for my short 5 day/6 night stay, we just kept missing each other. Corlette did contact me via text to see if we needed anything.
The view from the patio is amazing. Inside the room, there really isn't a view of anything, but in the heat, it's nice that the sun only shines through the windows for a short period.
I always felt safe at this studio. Every once in a while, you could here someone in the main house, but I found that comforting after I realized what it was. I think I spoke to Kenneth on the fly when I was running to the beach, but never saw anyone less.
The driveway... Use the second drive way. Really. Use that one, no matter what the GPS says. The first driveway will get you to the house, but it will possibly give you a heart attack the first time you use it. The second driveway looks intimidating, but it's really quite easy after the first go at it. We had a (yay! free upgrade) Mustang that had no problem. I would have liked a small jeep for some of the ROADS. The driveway at the house is a breeze. Back down to the turn to get the nose of the car pointed down hill. It's about a 100ft from car to studio on an incline/stairs. It's not terrible, but it's not easy if you have trouble walking.
The studio is huge! Surprisingly so. Bed is a bit soft, but it's good.My friend slept on the couch because her feet were so swollen from the flight from Alaska, and preferred it to the bed. Everything for cooking is available. Laundry was broke, but Corlette offered to take it to town for me. The bath and kitchen get and stay warm, but it didn't bother me. The AC blows straight on the bed, so prefect! I wish I could have stayed longer and explored more. Go to Linquist (Smith Bay) and Meagan Bay beach (check to see how many cruise ships are in. Better when they aren't in). St John's was incredible. Look for "Off the Grid" food truck for BBQ at Sapphire beach! Don't shop at Pueblo (so so bad), go to Food Center. Gladys's downtown for breakfast & Lunch!
Thank you, Corlette, wish I could have stayed!
We just got back from a week in St. Thomas staying in this studio! I was very unsure of staying at a rental since this was the first time for us doing this instead of a hotel - you always hear horror stories BUT this studio is EXACTLY what you see in the pictures. It was very clean, the bed was comfortable, the kitchen amenities were endless (and brand new I believe), and the view - you cannot beat! You are so close to the beach (Morningstar at Marriot) and shopping (Havensight) was just around the corner. This studio being up in the "mountain" made us a little nervous our car wouldn't make it up the driveway but it did and oh how peaceful and quiet it was when you got up there. We enjoyed eating breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks or drinking champagne/beer on the patio looking out at the ocean. I would recommend renting a car.
I would HIGHLY recommend this studio condo!! We hope to make it back to St. Thomas again someday and if so, Corlette you will see us again =)
I really enjoyed our stay! We went for a church conference during high season and it was a blessing finding this beautiful place. At first I was overwhelmed/nervous about the incline of where the house was situated but that's just st thomas as a whole . The houses are all high up in the mountains. The view was gorgeous! Ms Corlette had so many amenities and toiletries for us. It felt like home or a really nice apartment. AC was awesome especially on the hot days. She made us some tasty breads and desserts that we enjoyed and devoured. Yummy!
Really good stay. Just prepare for driving winding roads and the incline to the house was steep to me. Our little rental car (Toyota Yaris) kinda struggled but we got the jist of it within a day! Thank you Corlette :)
We will definitely be back! Pictures fail to capture how immaculate and how beautiful your unit is! Thank you for the effort you put in preparing for us and for making sure I was comfortable.
