I am orginally from Vancouver, Canada but I have spend a good part of my life in Japan.I have been in Tokyo now for 15 years so I am getting to know the place fairly well. I have lived in various areas throughout Tokyo/Yokohama with each of them bringing something special to me each time. I enjoy exercise, travelling and playing ice hockey and hanging out with my family watching my kids grow up.
Scott purchased this apartment in 2007
If you would like an experience like no other in one of the greatest cities of the world then staying with me is the only way to go. It is perfect for a solo traveller of a large family. Location is key in making any decision on where to stay and I might be bias but this apartment is in the best location in Tokyo. I have a couple of place in this same area so I will always be availalbe to help with any question about this city or the apartment.
The views from the Living Room, Dining Room, Kitchen and the balcony are absolutely fantastic. Waking up every morning gives my whole family energy to make the most of our days. I am sure you will feel this experierce also. If you are a jogger, cyclist or just love to go for walks there are serveral parks in the area and the apartment actually overlooks the future Olympic Village for the games of 2020 here in Tokyo. As you will see in the pictures our place is kept very clean with nice modern comfortable furniture. The Living/Dining is combined and having the open Kitchen make having a social gathering/communication very easy and comfortable.
Here are the great things about this apartment
1. There are 3 spacious rooms and able to sleep more on the futons in the living room. Perfect for families.
2. Scott and Peter speaks English as they are not japanese thus its very easy to communicate with them.
3. They provide a full range of services which we can pay extra for. For instance : wifi egg, transportation to and from the Airport.
4. Quiet neighborhood but Convenient location, nice walk to the fish market and even to Ginza. There's convenient stores and eateries right downstairs too.
5. The only worry I had is the one bathroom. However the layout is very smart which separates all the activities of a typical bathroom so different people and do different things at the same time thus minimizing bathroom queue. The bathroom is very cool too. Fully automated.
Tokyo is a must see destination and our trip was topped off by staying at a spacious, central apartment that could fit a family of 5! The apartment was well fitted out with 3 bedrooms, full kitchen, lounge room and dinning room, cable TV and a massive projector...plus amazing uninterrupted views of Mt Fuji and the lights of Tokyo. Nice central location with a taxi stand right across the road and the subway 3 blocks away, plus regular buses that can take you into Ginza which is 10mins away. The supermarket located in the building was awesome..tons of fresh food, drinks and meals if you decided to cook in the apartment...But a big 5stars to Scott for looking after us throughout the booking process and a big thanks to Pete who meet us when we arrived and walked us through the apartment and amenities, plus gave us some great red hot tips on life in Tokyo...If you do stay, pre book the mobile wifi from Scott...that was gold and we traveled with friends who also had 3 kids and they went with the 2 hotel room option and all I can say is don't do it. well done guys and we will be back next year ;)
Even before we arrived I could tell that the property manager (Pete) really had his act together. He made sure that we had everything we needed to have a painless transfer from Tokyo Station to the condo. When we arrived, Pete met us and took us up to the condo for check-in.
Everything was clean, new, and immaculate. Our party of 5 felt like we had plenty of iron the whole time. The amenities are fantastic, the view unforgettable, and the peace and quiet priceless. This is a very quiet location, and you will feel like you have your own private sanctuary in the middle of crazy Tokyo.
We had zero complaints the whole time, and felt very well provided for the whole time. Pete is a pleasure to work with, and he even made sure that upon check-out that we got a taxi (two, actually) and that the driver understood where we were going.
We spent many hours looking for a place in Tokyo that could accommodate 5 people. If you stay here, you will absolutely not be disappointed. This is a class act operation, and you will be well taken care of. You will not be disappointed, and you will be glad that you stayed here!
If you want your stay in Tokyo to be unforgettable, this is the place! Very comfortable beds, laundry, great kitchen and the view is absolutely stunning!
I really cannot say enough good things about this condo, or the quality of service that the owners and property manager provide.
Thanks Pete! You are wonderful! Cheers!
We are a family of four, including two teenagers, and we stayed in this apartment for a week at the beginning of July.
On arrival we were welcomed in to the apartment, shown around every room, given all the instructions we could possibly need, and then given heaps of useful information about the surrounding area. After that it was all ours for the week. We immediately felt comfortable.
Everything was exactly how it looks on the website, the rooms and beds were comfortable and spacious, the kitchen really well equipped, and overall there was just so much space. We certainly did not expect an apartment in Tokyo to be so large and accommodating.
Getting out and about was simple too, the buses and trains were very close by and taxis were easy to find. We also went for some lovely walks around the area, and found some great spots to eat. One really handy item is the great supermarket right downstairs. This was packed with everything we could have hoped for, so breakfasts were easy and it was ideal for those times when you
would like a quiet night at "home" rather than having to go out for dinner.
That sums up exactly what the apartment is, a home away from home, just in a different city. So much better than a cold hotel room. Thanks so much for making our holiday a memorable one.
Oh, and how could I forget. That view...we spent every night and morning on the balcony just looking out at that view. Magnificent.
The photos do not do this place justice - the view is spectacular, from early morning, when you can see Mount Fuji on a clear day, to the evening when you really do have a clear 180 degree view of the bright lights of Tokyo.
It's also is so, so convenient for the underground and busses, and we really could easily walk to Ginza - we loved it!
My wife and I just stayed here with our 18 month old son. This apartment was as perfect for what we wanted. Scott and Peter were very helpful. Because we were traveling from the US, Scott arranged to have a crib in the apartment which saved us from having to bring one ourselves. The apartment has 3 bedrooms though we only used 2. The living room and dining room are combined which made 1 large room that we spent most of our time in when we were actually in the apartment. The kitchen is small but functional and worked great for the couple meals we actually cooked when we were in Tokyo. The 24 hour supermarket is on the first floor of the building and is very convenient. Appliances in the condo are all in Japanese, but the introduction packet includes pictures of all the control surfaces and what each of the buttons does. This makes the apartment user-friendly. And the washer/dryer even has #1, #2, and #3 stickers on it to press which turns it on.
Peter warned us that the washer/dryer was slow. He was not kidding. It can take anywhere from 2-5 hours to do a load of laundry depending on how much you put in it. Once we realized that, we would put in a load of laundry at night and it would be finished the next morning. The nice thing is that the washer and dryer are a single unit so once you turn it on, it actually finishes the entire cycle without ever touching the machine or having to transfer laundry.
Our biggest concern beforehand was the Metro since the island only has one subway line on it. However, this was actually not a problem at all. The Metro entrance is only 4 blocks away from the apartment so getting to it is easy and quick. (Incidentally, there is also a large playground right by the Metro that my son loved to play in). The Oedo subway line runs to most of the places we wanted to go to. And it is the only line (I think) that runs in a circle with Shinjuku and the hub; this makes getting to most of the other subway lines easy. We did many of the typically sightseeing things and never switched Metro lines more than once per excursion.
Reserving the apartment includes a refundable deposit (I think in case of damage). I actually had the deposit refunded to my Paypal account before I even landed in the US, which was much faster than I would have expected.
I travel to Japan every a few years and would definitely stay at this apartment again. And I would highly recommend it to my friends whether they have kids or not.
Kachidoki is just an awesome location. This place is so special because it is the middle of the city, yet very quiet and private. You are also only a nice 20 minute walk to all the action in Ginza if you so desire! VERY upscale area, convenient, and very central. Actually, many places you may want to go are walkable from here! You will have complete privacy and freedom to come and go.
The apartment is located right beside the famous Tsukiji fish market which accepts viewing on certain days. If you feel like going to this amazing experience get ready to wake up at 3:30 in the morning to get in line as they only accept 120 people per day.
Ginza is about a 20 minute walk from the apartment where there are 100's of stores, bars and restaurant for your leisure. They close down the streets in Ginza so it is a very relaxing place to visit while be in the center of the city.
