House, 2 Bedrooms + Loft, 4 Baths, (Sleeps 8)

Now booking for race weekends and fall trade shows!

Unique Victorian home, four floors including converted ballroom. Two bedrooms, third floor studio, lower level media room, four full baths. Perfect for the executive family on excursion to Indianapolis, executive relocation, event attendees or for a corporate event center. Professional kitchen with staff serving area. Open floor plan will accommodate everything from large corporate welcome parties to intimate family dinners. The home is situated on a half acre in Downtown Indianapolis, grounds include in ground swimming pool and croquet court as well as outdoor entertaining area. Catering and housekeeping available. Pets considered. Full security system, telephone, cable television and high-speed wireless Internet access.

Master suite is 600 square feet with a private four piece bath, double vanity and walk in closet. Second bedroom is a guest suite with a large three piece bath. Third floor loft is the former ballroom of the 1899 house. There is a full bed in a gable alcove, a full size sleeper sofa and two single convertible beds. There is a four piece bath dedicated to the third floor. Please note the house is not handicapped accessible.

The house is conveniently located less than five minutes to the major Interstates and about two miles or less from Lucas Stadium, Circle Center Mall, the Convention Center and White River State Park.

Burton Cottage was built in 1899 for the fifth wedding anniversary of William and Effie Burton in anticipation of their first (and only) child's birth. At the time their neighbors included the L.S. Ayre's family, the widow of former President Benjamin Harrison and many of Indianapolis' prominent families. William died suddenly in 1915; Effie remained in the home until her death following World War II. The house was restored in 1997 and is located in the Herron-Morton Historic District of Indianapolis.

Rehearsal Dinner

I rented the house in place of hotel rooms for my family while in Indianapolis for my son's wedding. I also wanted to host the rehearsal dinner and the property was excellent for accommodating 32 for a sit down dinner. The front porch and back yard provided additional conversation areas for family and friends to chat. The house also became "the compound" for the groom, groomsmen and ushers to meet before the wedding for pictures. We had a great weekend and many memories were made.
The owner was easily accessible via e-mail and quick to answer questions. The kitchen is very well equipped for anyone planning to cook during their get away.
The four bathrooms were definitely a plus and more spacious than a high end hotel.
Thank you Michael for providing such a wonderful property that only enhanced our wedding weekend.
Recommended for:  Girls Getaway, Families with Teenagers

Simply WONDERFUL!

This was just wonderful. It worked perfectly for us. The first two days were for business. The house is really convenient to Downtown, and like we were told, there was ample on street parking. The master bedroom was like a great hotel suite, just better. At night it was great to unwind after meetings. The television had every channel we could want. We even cooked one night as the kitchen was just too tempting to use. Friends came in for the weekend and I think we all enjoyed our time immensely. There was nothing any of us needed or wanted that was not there. I can hardly wait to come back when the outside can be used. There is a HUGE yard in front and another HUGE yard in back. In back there is a pool, an outdoor kitchen and a great deck. Even though it was chilly we sat outside on the front porch and just relaxed and waved at the neighbors who walked by. Definitely on the "stay here again" list for Indianapolis!

WOW!!!!

I rented the Burton Cottage because of a conference in town because I didn't want to rent hotel rooms downtown. When we arrived we didn't really know what to expect but man were we blown away when we walked through the doors. The pics don't do justice. This home is amazing. Very modern feel and very "artsy".
Plenty of room to meet with my staff and even hosted a dinner on Friday night for some friends. Our friends were in awe of the home and were amazed by the upstairs bathrooms. Would highly recommend this to anyone looking to host a classy event.
Thanks Mike for being so easy to work with. Looking forward to renting again in 2013.

Great Experienc

House was great. We ha 3 couples and had plenty of room. We brought food and drinks but everything else was provided. Just about anything you could need to prep and cook a meal was there. The home blends old Victorian charm with modern convenience.

We brought two small dogs and they enjoyed the stay as well. The fenced yard allowed them to explore while we sat on the porch to enjoy the fall weather.

The area has plenty of restored historic homes and sidewalks provide a great opportunity to walk the area and see some beautiful homes.

During our stay the backyard was under construction which we knew beforehand . We definitely plan to go back when that is completed as it is fantastic.

The owner was easily reached and very responsive.

The only word of caution is whoever is on the top floor should know there isn't much privacy. The stairwell is open to the other floors so stepping out of the quirky shower left you visibly exposed so plan accordingly.
